220 is deffinately more efficient. My 1000w hps lights run 8.8 amps at 110v, but only 4.4 amps at 220v. Ive never seen a chord that could convert that tho. Ive always had to open the ballast up and wire the 220 in. Be careful. A mistake could pop your electronics. Ive smoked a $225. Ballast by mistakenly switching the 110 and 220 plugs. Hahaha

I would check with the manufacturer of your light to be sure @Reeferman. They would ultimately know what would work best for their products.
No. I do not think it will work for what you want. I just looked at it. It will not convert your electricity from 110-220 or vise verse. It only changes the Prong ends. Unless I am misunderstanding.
