I second @chasfitter, great colas!!
This is just that one plant.
I trimmed the last plant the purple Runtz today.
the buds on the drying screens are from a bowl trimmer. I like to hand trim all the big buds and then run the smaller buds and larfy stuff in the bowl trimmer. The bowl trimmer Make a fast trimming job of small buds.I just spent the last 2 hours cleaning up the hydro system. And tent and i plan on running the purple rain strain in it? But well see what happens. Its reall good so i think im doing that one. Here is a rootball Off one of them.
Ok the system is reset and up and running. And im pissed i broke the water line connector for my chiller! I had some old parts from an old pum and used a heat gun to melt the connecter so i could slide it into an old connector. Then i epoxied them together and it will work. But damn it. I put in new air stones. I keep them in inventory. I have 8 more for the next 2 runs after this one. Because cleaning them sucks. And i prefere to start every grow sterile as i can and always use new clean things i can replace.
Update here folks.
Roots are already peaking out of the netpots!
I was setting up the chiller and Broke the water line going into it. I repaired it. But i was able to get new ones in 1 day on amazon. I just google lens the picture of what i broke.
Its a good thing i got the part because the water was super hot in the system. look what the chiller showed when i turned it on.
Ok chillers working good.
These plants love the water temps now! Look at the the vertical fan leaves on these plants now!
Group shot.
The Roots are turning white and looking fresh. And growing like crazy.
Running spring time mode and like 46% power with a 20 minute sunrise sunset setting.
So a longgg time ago a member here traded me a Bluelabs guardian meter for like a bunch of strains. It has a bad PH meter. I so i finally got around to buying a new probe and setting up the meter in my hydro grow. So here it is all set up.
I just zip tied the meter to my sump pumps water discharge pcv pipe. I didnt want it inside the tent. And the cords are to short to have them reach the control boxes for the lights and the fan to have the meter mounted to the wall with the other controllers.
Ok i didnt like the way that looked. So i went and got this metal peg board i had in the shed for like 5yrs. I remembered i had it. So i attached it to the wall using some concrete anchors. I just whipped out my hamer drill zapped in a couple holes and then i attached all the controls to the peg board. Now where the old controls were i have another 2’x2’ peg board im going to attach it to that side.
Heres where i put the probes. Kinda by the pumps to have a more acurate constant reading.
Im trying to use 1/2 strength nutrients to see how they grow. Normally id be in the 900s-1100 ppms by now. I set the ph at 5.8 last night and withing 4hrs was creeping back up to 6.0. And i run a 24hr light schedule now up until flower and then i switch to flower.
Ok i installed the other peg board on the wall. I didnt want it too far under the cabinet because it would be more unusable because it would be too far under it. And i didnt want the cabinet door hitting the controls so i opted to offset the 1st panel to the right of the pvc pipe to keep away from the door on the cupboard. And the cords were just long enough to sit here perfectly. Im not ordering cable extenders for a couple feet and tidyness.
ok the plants have been topped and cloned. Heres how they look now.
I added a little more nutrients. I added 3 gallons of nutes and 3 gallons of water. So there drinking like 3-4 gallons a day.
Ok i changed the light mode to summer. I increased the lights power to 48% and i set it flower/flipped also. There starting to grow to fast and need to be flipped because i forsee at least a 50-60% strech ratio to what we have now. Usually i would say 40% but these plants look growing pretty aggressively.
I have extra bbq sauce dispenser bottles from my inventory and i filled up 2 of them with ph down and up. I got tired of using a syringe to suck up ph down and squirt it into the resivoir. Now i can can just grab and squirt it in like 2 secs. I cut the tip of the sauce bottle off just barely to keep the hole super small so a lot doesnt squirt at once. This way i can squeeze it and it slowly squirts out!
I thought this forum was for growing cannabis, not palm trees! ![]()
Lol yeah hydro can be crazy growth.
I already flipped these to flower.
Weird thing is these plants were consistently at 6.2 ph. I kept having to add ph down at 1oz a day. Now that im in flower and i changed the lights to the summer light setting the ph is stable at 5.9? Thats .3 points.
I added nutrients tonight and i gave them 3 gallons of nutrients. I feed them every time i water. Unless i need to reduce the ppms by adding only R/o water. But i do not swap the the water out during the entire grow. Thats a huge pia! Its far easier to just balance the system out. But i am toying with the idea of removing half the water in the system and replacing it with fresh. I wish i could test the water to see whats left in it. What i mean byvthat is to see what the plants actually are eating and what nutrients are built up because the plants arent using that nutrient as much. Then i could really tailer the nutrients mix to the what the plants are using and not overloading the water and system with unused nutrients causing a nutrient lock out.
