We luckily have been fortunate to get a bank account through Wells Fargo, however, we are concerned when we begin to implement our subscription model as we are unsure on if the monthly transactions will cause for any red flags.

There is a company in San Diego, California who has a bank account, it looks like the bank he is working with is from Colorado and testing their program with his business in California. They presented it to John Chiang and the Cannabis Banking Working Group in San Diego.

I went to a dispensary recently that had an interesting workaround. If you want to pay with a debit card, they add money to a gift card that you can then use to actually make the purchase. That way the cc transaction isnā€™t directly towards cannabis.

It is great to see more solutions popping up for banking with cannabis related activities! Iā€™ve personally had accounts frozen by PayPal for a 6 month investigation (they didnā€™t find anything and eventually released the money, with a note that says ā€œweā€™d love for your continued businessā€ or something to that effect. Moved to Square, was very open about what we do (and it was an ancillary business, not even touching the product,) they were cool until the first invoice, then we got shut down again.

I see it all the time on facebook groups and other places, people are looking for reliable banking for cannabis. BIg shout out to all the institutions and groups here that are helping to make that happen, it is your efforts that is removing some of our frustrations! Thanks, guys and gals!
