Bird iz tha word!

Could very well be the case. I had an excessive magnesium problem with a grow in my previous house, when I used the council water. Plants looked just like that.

Interesting. Too much mag? So how would i take it out of the regime?
FF 9 ml
Flavuh 3ml
Fulvic acid 1 ml
Other than the occasional bio phos treatment thats all im feeding. Straight tap water. Ugh i already know what you guys are going to say…im ordering an ro buddy RIGHT NOW.

I ordered an RO filter because I wanted to have control over my water and I’m growing organic. At first I thought it was overkill but now I’m glad I am using it. There’s so many variables in growing that it’s good to have control over as many as possible.

I feel it. I thought my city’s water supply might be good enough, but ill give it a try. Should be here in a couple days. Did you have to compinsate for anything that might of been filtered out? Is there anything i need to add now?

What I have been doing is adding Bloom City Cal-Mag which has Magnesium, Calcium and Iron as well as Bloom City Silica Boost which is potassium silicate.

I usually do compost tea with every watering but today it’s just those 2 and then I’ll use citric acid to bring the pH down to about 6.5. After adding the Cal-Mag and Silica I have found the pH goes up to 8.8 or so.

I know we’re supposed to compensate for minerals lost from RO but I bet someone else here knows more about the critical minerals than me. Oh yeah I forgot to say that my compost tea Boogie Brew has volcanic ash(azomite) in it as well which adds trace minerals.

RO water has nothing in it so if you’re going to water your plants with it alone you will have to add something to it to even be able to pH it I would only use straight ro for flushing my plants at the end of the grow if you’re giving them a water only day it should have at least some cal mag in it and then pH it you could do some ro and tap water mixed

Bloom City Cal-Mag actually has several minerals in different forms.

It’s got copper, zinc, manganese and boric acid as well.

I need R/o water for my hydro. I have a 35 gallon set up. I installed the tank downstairs. And hooked up a faucet tap in one room and i run the water line through the wall. To the tank. But i placed the tank in an area that can also reach upstairs so when i install a new fridge im going to hook up to that. But R/o is the only way to go.

I started with RO water , but now I just use an inline filter. Every few days going through 100 gallons, my RO system processes at 2:1 and all the water going down the drain was getting costly. So I switched it up to the rv inline drinking water filters . For me it works great mostly because I’m 90%(clones in coco) hydro and my main concern was the chlorine and other additives put into tap water and removes 97% of chlorine so far it’s been working great and my ph seems to be holding descent. I’d still prefer ro but for what I’ve got going, this is more cost effective for me and I’m not waiting on my barrel to refill :joy::v:

I was just looking at those the other day. I might grab one next and test it out. Way better throughput but I wonder what effect 3% chlorine would have. I bet most organisms could tolerate that so it might not disturb organic growing either. :man_shrugging:

I have pressurized irrigation water outside for the garden and i have it connected to my lawn sprinklers and it cost me $120 a year.
The culinary water 10,000 decaliters or 26,461 gallons a month but is like $71 a month.

Our sewage rate is crazy high. My actual water would be 20$ but the sewage portion would be 85$ and that’s just a normal month now grow going. I’m averaging 250$ a month with ro because I’m using more water and the sewage goes up exponentially :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth:. I’m down to 185$ with the rv inline filter and so far everything has been good I’ve even used it in the cloner and still been 100%. Damn sewer tax what made me switch. :v:

Wow thats crazy high. Hiw the hell can you even afford the water? You could look into rain barrel water also. Its legal to harvest here. Then you just use a pump to shove the rain water through the rv filter and then use it.

Yea I know right. I feel like I pay more for tap water than I would for bottled water. Im looking into a rain barrel , I’ve got a couple clean 55 gal drums :v:

Been using ro buddy for a couple weeks now. I think theres definitely improvement on the health of my plants. Ph was tricky. I hope i got it down im seeing a couple leaves turn yellow but i lve been raising ph and seemed to correct the situation. Also im stuck on the one more day loop with @PreyBird1 's galacticG x white runtz. And im happy to announce were finally seedless over here! My skillz are starting to finally sharpen up. And each crop gets and better…
