Composting with black Soldier Flies

Would they survive/breed ok in Nova Scotia Canada it’s the paninsula on the top right just above and to the right of new hampture

Outdoors mabye sumer time, indoors its possible with lightsscand heater, don’t like cold weather, i just moved my bins into the sun it was to cold fir them and wasn’t having enough action in there bins @hoppiefrog

Here my bins up and running, you can add your used soil, or start from scratch, I add 70/30 peat/coco mix , perlite, vermiculite, biochar, amiozite and gypsum in my bedding


Fast forward a week or so and you will attract BSF

The flies will lay eggs :egg:

Which in return hatch out larvae

Common, some chicken flied rice maybe? Can make more authentic by using cats instead of chicken. That’d be puurfect :scream_cat:

The can go thru lots of compost, I’ll be getting more fruit next food drive, I get all the rotten stuff that’s going to the dumpster @hoppiefrog
