Thatās pretty amazing. I feel like weāre on the verge of some big advances in genetics at the moment.
The Cannabis industry hasnāt even investigated traditional ābig ag approachesā like marker assisted breeding based off of QTL mapping and SNP associations. Whatās the rush to Crispr? Especially given that Crispr is shown to cause errors elsewhere, at least under certain conditionsā¦

Another follow-up, bit of a necropost, but more about the legal story of Crispr-Cas9:
Yes. This will be useful for curing genetic conditions! I have a daughter with Angelman Syndrome. We actually have 5 different gene-editing modalities in the works. We expect human clinical trials in all of them over the next 16-34 months. One of these strategies is utilizing CRSPR. We are on the brink of a medical revolution with genetics! Www.cureangelman.org
The FDA approved the first 2 genetic editing treatments in 2017.
