Well i would clone it 1st. Then spray. See i keep lots of clones. So i have backups that never got sprayed. I clone then flip the bigger mother. I like to have tiny mothers medium mothers and full on large mothers. In different tents. This way if something happens there separated and i have extra. I had a cloner stop working. Killed some important cuts. Now i don’t mess around.
Baby mothers are easy to deal with vs a 6 foot plant. Like hypothetically if a huge 6’ plant got mites or thrips. Its a bitch to try and spray all the under sides of the leaves.
Anytime if you have questions just ask. I got invited to a private breeders forum. So im over there a lot. I like to talk to the creator of grandaddy purple hes a smart mofo!
I’ll definitely be hitting you up in the future. I’m definitely going to be dabbling before to long. Just have to work out some extra space. And what do ya know, 5th of 6 kids just moved out. I have an extra bed room. See what the wife thinks of that lol…
That’s my big issue is space. One day I will build my own small grow building. Then I will aim for breeding and hopefully stabilizing some cultivar in the future.
Nice i have 7 tents in 3 different rooms. My grow is 1200 square feet. I can use 1600 feet but i don’t need it. But this keeps all the pollinating plants in diffent areas of the grow. So there is no chance of any cross pollination. Plus i use pre-filtered carbon filters to snag any loose pollen then i have that exhaust air ozonated before its discharged outside and the fans i use have crazy cfm’s. i like 650cfm for 4x4 tents. There overkill. But it keeps pollen and fine dust in controlled areas not just flying around. I also have 2 lab suits i wear in 2 different rooms. And i mess with the breeding tents last. So i dont go into a pollen sensitive area with pollen on my clothes. And swap suits in different rooms. Plus i start breeding at staggered times. So as ones finished pollinating. Then another tent starts at 2-3 weeks behind. Because there’s no pistils yet and pollen will be 3 weeks away easy.
It’s a learning process for me. I didn’t leave my male alive long enough. I only got about 15 seeds from my cross of Jack herer X (mawi X congo). I think I’ll hold off on trying for males until I can find the right strains to cross.
Preybird I was just going to ask how much room you had! Frigging incredible you! You must have notes a phonebook thick! Very professional. Hope you are still healing up well.
Well thank you . I keep all my notes and pics on a external 2TB hard drive! In pictures alone i have over 3,200. I like that i can pull a pic of every strain i have ever grown for the last 3yrs in a few mins. From germination to smokable weed. There is a small bit of skygod grow, dr. Grinspoon, nyc diesel from soma seeds that’s missing because of the motorcycle crash.
The first plants i grew here. 3yrs ago. A baby grandaddy purple. And a white rhino
In my bean garden. Had to be fenced so the deer wouldn’t eat them.
The GDP.
@LasVegas7 not yet friend those are all male flowers. The strain is my Runtz. Its mad purple. The pollination has just been confirmed look at the pistils.
Look close at the pistils. The red pistil is an indication that the flower connected to it has been pollinated. Seeds will form in a couple weeks. Ill keep updating in detail just so we all can see.
This is so interesting and I want to thank U for donating ur time to educate us all in germination and seed development. This is much better than going to school. Tks Prey
Normally there for kief. But these are cheap and i can blow them out with an air duster.
I bought another one just to keep the pollen in each box. Just in case. This way i can clean them and they can sit unused and clean. For the next runs.
