There are some big costs up front, but if you spend the money on the right things they’ll last you for years without any trouble. Good environment, automation to keep things running smoothly when you sleep in one day or go away, enough light.

The quintet of daisies says it’ll cover a 4x4, but the 4VS says it’s only good for 3.5x3.5.

Lighting is the one thing next to genetics that you can’t cheap out on.(also hit me up for that, I have a extensive menu)

I like the quints because you can raise or lower each section as need by each section. Makes a lot of sense when you think about uneven canopies and such

yeah @devjyarn but what if I used the 4VS as center light with the quintet arranged around the outside of it…it would look awesome at the very least lol…Im a work in process but I will fiqure this stuff out dammit Im glad I already have all my harvest equipment from my outdoor stuff …ok what route would you go if you had 1000 to 1200 for lights should be able to put something together with that funding right?

I use some cree cxb 3590 cobs for supplemental lights or full grow if you have enough

@MK3_Pharms given the numbers in my last post what would you buy please

You have a few options out there.
Basically there isnt a answer I can give. However I can tell you my checklist
White light or natural is a must.
IP6/waterproof
Passive heat sinks
Top bin diodes
Name brand parts like mean well drivers.
Nothing from China.
Make sure to have enough light for your space( don’t use any light that uses the term lumens, make sure your actual wattage from the wall is the watts you are paying for. )
This is all if you want to go LED. I personally like the cmh product if you are going to use a net. Which IMHO every tent grower should use a net.

Ohh yeah dimmable is a plus. Helps control the heat. Just check efficacy numbers based off dimming effect.

I use these on another set up

You could buy two and have a great set up

Those CREEs look pretty good @MK3_Pharms …like I know what leds are good lol…but could do the trick can you tell me what the difference in these two things are HLG-320H-C1750B… HLG-480H-C2100B (+$60) and also whats a rail hanger is it a good thing to have? and does it take the place of the stainless steel hangers? and talk to me about genetics if you would…the more I learn about this indoor stuff makes me realize theres so much I dont know lol

Those two drivers are rated for different power driving levels. Basically just make sure to have enough power to push your lights.
Genetics that’s a whole other topic. Basically to keep it short. Indoor growers look for specific qualities based usually on the grow environment. Every grow area is different. Knowing how yours works is key.
Maybe you need one that is resistant to mold or pest. Maybe you want a plant that doesn’t grow tall. There is so much to cover on this topic. We could talk for weeks. I mainly breed. I’m always dropping new stuff. I sent you a private message

Ok another quick question are the booster boards they show really help flower initation that much it sounds good but whats you take on it and what is difference between the exotic board versus regular…thanks for all your time here @MK3_Pharms and @devjyarn …oh and are the dual heatsinks a needed add on and with the canopy brackets whats that allow you to do?

I’ve never used the booster’s. Can’t really say much about them. These companies will sell you any and everything. If if its not needed or useful. Question is do you want to buy.

I’d suggest spending a bit of time looking around and seeing what your options are for your space and budget. Lots of places will let you search by flowering area. I’d look for two lights to cover a 4x4 space each.

You can spend anywhere between about $300 and $1500 per light. In some regards you get what you pay for.

The biggest selling points I look for when getting a light are: passive cooling, a mix of white/red LEDs, glass or plastic lenses covering the LEDs, and enough output to cover the area. You’ll need about 500 watts, or 1000 PPF, per 4x4 side of your tent.

I just chatted w @dbrn32 our old lighting specialist he says don’t bother w the far reds untill u run out of things to tinker w they will help but not worth the bucks on a start up

I think it sort of like this. You could buy nice rims and a fancy paint job for your car. But at the end of the day did it make the car drive better? I’d look into them more before purchasing.
