lol. thats an interesting shipment…

1 ounce of oil makes up to 1 gallon of spray.

Organic JMS Stylet Oil is excellent as a fungicide for powdery mildew, as an insecticide and for virus control!

It will kill powdery mildew on contact

It will kill mites, whitefly, leafminer and many others (See the list of insects below)*. Also protects plants against aphid-transmitted virus diseases.

OMRI listed and EPA registered; it can be used in grow rooms, greenhouses, on field crops, or on fruit trees.

Organic JMS Stylet-Oil, a technical grade white mineral oil:

  • Exceeds standards set by the Food & Drug Administration for “Food Grade Quality” mineral oil (b&c)
  • Colorless, tasteless and odorless
  • Highest purity level (UR = 99.1%) of any mineral oil sprayed on food crops
  • Formulated with an industry-high 2.9% (v/v) emulsifier content
  • Has a 4-hour re-entry interval; no pre-harvest interval. (Use it up to the day of harvest)
  • Packaged into 4oz containers as pictured

Avoid contact with eyes

WHITEFLIES, MITES (many other insects):

Stylet-Oil delivers a one-two punch to harmful insects like the white fly and plant feeding mites. The primary mode of action is through suffocation. This results when the spray forms a coating of oil on the insect’s body, blocking the spiracles or breathing opening. The oil also modifies their feeding and egg-laying behaviors. Plant feeding insects and mites probe into plant tissue using microscopic hollow hairs to detect secondary chemicals in the host plant that trigger critical insect behaviors such as feeding and egg-laying. Stylet-Oil works by plugging the hollow sensillae with oil, making it impossible for the insect to recognize it is on a host plant. Without recognition, harmful insects and mites will not feed or lay eggs.

Beneficial insects such as ladybugs, predatory mites and praying mantis’s don’t probe into plant tissue. Beneficial insects use different sensing mechanisms — their eyes, feet and mouthparts — to recognize and catch prey. When using Stylet-Oil, you can breathe easy knowing the population of beneficial insects should survive. Avoid direct contact with honeybees, ladybugs or other beneficial non-target insects. Spray during the time of the day when bees or beneficial insects are not actively foraging. Stylet-Oil is safe to beneficial insects but over-spraying or direct contact may kill these insects as well.

POWDERY MILDEW:

Stylet-Oil is used to control certain fungal diseases (such as powdery mildew, Botrytis bunch rot and rust). Stylet-Oil is an excellent eradicant and will kill powdery mildew on contact as well as prevent development for 10 to 14 days depending on the use rate. Stylet-Oil is successfully used in grape powdery mildew control programs throughout the world, including some of the premiere wine grape growing regions in California, Oregon, Washington and New York.

Based on years of University and independent research, Stylet-Oil is the best eradicant available against grape and cherry powdery mildew diseases. Stylet-Oil kills powdery mildew on contact thus, spray coverage is important.

VIRUS CONTROL:

Aphid-borne plant viruses can be transmitted in less than 20 seconds after initial contact with the plant, but Stylet-Oil is designed to interfere with the transmission process giving you peace of mind that your crops are protected. For this reason, Stylet-Oil is the perfect choice for farmers like you to keep certain plant viruses to a minimum. Stylet-Oil works at the physical level (as opposed to the biochemical level), so, include Stylet-Oil in your virus management program for positive results.

APPLICATION: This food grade oil can be used up to the day of harvest.

Stylet-Oil’s performance is directly related to the quality of spray coverage. Stylet-Oil can be sprayed using a standard pump sprayer, available at any local home and garden center. It is important to spray the plants to the point of runoff.

FOR INSECTS:

Mix Stylet-Oil in water at the rate of 1 to 2 ounces per gallon of water. Note: 1 fluid ounce equals 2 tablespoons. A rate of 1.5 oz. (3 tablespoons)/gallon of water is recommended for most applications.

Stylet-Oil needs to contact pest insects to kill them, thus under-leaf application may be necessary if that is the location of the pests at the time of application.

FOR Powdery Mildew:

Add 3 Tbsp of Stylet Oil per gallon of water to your pump sprayer. Put in Stylet Oil AFTER your water or last ingredient. Agitate before spraying. Be sure and agitate at least every 10 minutes for the proper dispersal of oil.

TIMING OF APPLICATIONS:

For use as an insecticide: Plants should be sprayed weekly or twice weekly depending on level of pest infestation.

For use as a fungicide: Spray weekly or once every two weeks depending on level of disease pressure.

For use in mitigating aphid transmission of plant viruses: Initiate sprays when winged aphoids first appear. Spray weekly or twice weekly depending on level of disease/vector pressure.

STYLET-OIL is NOT compatible with SULFUR:

There is a 14 day interval between use of Stylet-Oil and sulfur

Temperature:

Do not spray Stylet-Oil when freezing temperatures are anticipated within 48 hours of an oil application.

  • Do not apply when temperatures are above 90° F (32° C) or when plants are under heat or moisture stress.
  • Do not apply when temperatures are below 50° F (10° C).
  • If daytime temperatures exceed 90° F, spraying should be done at night or early morning

The restricted Re-entry interval is 4 hours. There is no pre-harvest interval for Stylet-Oil. Use it up to the day of harvest.

WHAT EXACTLY IS STYLET-OIL?

The base oil used to formulate Organic JMS Stylet-Oil is defined as a Technical Grade White Mineral Oil (or white oil). White oil has a number of advantages over non-white horticultural oils. The purity (or Unsulfonated Residue) of the base oil used in Stylet-Oil is 99.1%; the purity of non-white horticultural oils is typically 92%. This difference in purity can have significant consequences:

  • There is more active ingredient in white oils
  • Potential for phytotoxicity (plant injury) is minimized when using white oils due to the removal of impurities, including aromatic compounds.

STORAGE RECOMMENDATIONS AND SHELF LIFE:

This product is primarily sold for large agriculture. It has been repackaged into convenient 4 ounce sterile bottles for residential use.

  • When transferring Stylet-Oil into another container, always use clean, uncontaminated containers or the emulsifier may activate. The emulsifier has potential to degrade causing the oil to turn a “milky” color. Never use Stylet-Oil from a container which has a milky appearance ― pest control will suffer and oil applications might damage your crop.**Note:**When you mix the oil with water for use, it will turn milky. This is OK. Just avoid the oil if it is already milky before you mix it.

Store the oil where water can not enter the container.

Temperature Conditions Under Storage:

  • Never store Stylet-Oil below freezing temperatures (32° F or 0° C)
  • Storage under high temperature conditions is not a problem

Shelf Life:
The shelf life of Stylet-Oil is 3 years. However, oil stored longer than 1 year should be stirred prior to use to re-suspend any emulsifier which may have settled during storage.

*Pests and IPM:
This product works as a knockdown control for the following: Aphids ( Mult), Armyworm ( Pseudaletia unipuncta), Beet Leafhopper ( Circulifer tenellus), Black Scale ( Saissetia oleae), Brown Almond Mite ( Bryobia rubrioculus), Caterpillar Eggs ( Mult), Citrus Red Scale (aka California Red Scale) ( Aonidiella aurantii), Citrus Yellow Scale (aka California Yellow Scale) ( Aonidiella citrina), Fall Armyworm ( Spodoptera frugiperda), Grape Leafhopper ( Erythroneura elegantula), Grape Leafroller ( Erythroneura variabilis), Leafhopper ( Circulifer tenellus), Leafhopper ( Empoasca sp), Leafminer ( Phyllocnistis sp), Leafroller ( Archips argyrospila), Leafroller ( Platynota stultana), Leafroller ( Choristoneura rosaceana), Leafroller ( Pandemis pyrusana), Leafroller ( Argyrotaenia franciscana), Leafroller ( Epiphyas postvittana), Mealybug ( Planococcus citri), Mealybug ( Pseudococcus sp), Mites ( Tetranychus sp), Oleander Scale ( Phenacaspis sp), Omnivorous leafroller ( Platynota stultana), Potato Leafhopper ( Empoasca fabae), Potato Leafhopper; Bean Jassid ( Empoasca fabae), Powdery Mildew, Psyllids ( Mult), Red-banded Leafroller ( Argyrotaenia velutinana), Scale ( Mult.), Silverleaf whitefly ( Bemisia sp), Spider Mite ( Mult), Spinach Leafminer ( Pegomya hyoscyami), Sweet Potato Whitefly ( Bemisia tabaci), Sweetpotato Whitefly ( Bemisia sp)

I would like to know how this works as far as on flowering cannabis. As far as I know you’re not supposed to use any type of oil after the second week of flowering. From what I’ve read it causes problems with Terping production. If I’m wrong, I’d like to know. It would make my outdoor growing a lot easier. The way this reads bugs would not develop a immunity to it.
