The new tent will be here soon. Any suggestions on seeds, strains, and where to buy them from?
I’m not sure of your location, however if your in the U.S. I can recommend a few that I buy seeds from. AS for strains it depends on what you want from it, (ie, pain relief, sleep, energy, etc.). The ones I buy from are Preybird Farms, Pacific Seed Bank and Chitown Seeds. Just a heads up if you order from Canada, there is a very big chance you will get a letter from U.S. Customs that they were seized at the border.
There are about a bazillion seed banks in the US now. The problem is not getting seeds, it is getting good seed, dank fire, which is what most of us want, some want up high and some want sleep medicine, and some grow a little of both, daytime stuff and nighttime stuff.
And I have always had good luck with North Atlantic seed bank. My problem is I have enough seeds to grow 4 different kinds every year for 30 years with some left over. I still have some of the very first Auto seeds released from Holland white widow auto flowers, they are at least 25-30 years old, a few years back I gave those away and grew a couple they still sprouted after 20 plus years, but I kept them in deep freeze in metal and glass to keep the moisture constant.
I can give you a couple that I really liked, they may or may not be still available, and they can be had from the actual breeder if they still make that strain. Candy store from Ethos is one of them and Octane 91 from Exotic genetics.
It is real hit and miss with seeds, I have been disappointed more than I have been happy with various strains.
Hope that helps.

Thank you for that. I always grew the same strain (and wasn’t even sure what it was). Is it okay to have different strains in the same space growing and flowering at the same time?
I just finished my grow in the buildasoil 3.0 soil they sell and was very happy. I have the worms and most of their amendments. And you can keep it going but bigger pots are better for living soil. I used a large earthbox witch holds 10 gallons of soil maybe a little more. Just watered down the tube and top fed amendments. Nothing more than that. And keeping your environment right.
Well Dave;
Yes and no. It depends on you and how you want to do it. Example, put in a set of 4 plants, 3 all have the flower as 8-10 weeks, those will all come out around the same time give or take a couple of weeks. Now let’s say you stick a 100% Sativa in that tent along with those other three girls…now the Sativa has a 14–18-week flower. You gonna be running the same amount of light and fan and using the same amount of electric for one plant for another month to two months. That is where I am at right now. A supposed 60% Indica I put in with three others that were Sativa’s they were listed as 8-10 weeks, and they are done and curing…the one that should have finished first is still growing and is in like 12 weeks of flower. I just posted a pic of her yesterday on my grow thread.
Don’t know what happened they send the wrong thing apparently…but ya know what, I am pleasantly surprised lol…I plucked a couple of small buds and microwaved them, and this shit is killer lol.
So, she is gonna get all the time she wants. Just plant 4 all of the same strain, then when you get your first tent out and you have plenty to smoke, then start playing around. I can grow over a pound easy with 4 plants, and it takes me a good bit of time to smoke a pound.

I suggest you send Me a Dm and ill send you something for free if you like? I have some Fire strains. Ive been working with an original Runtz strain since 2017 before everyone had it and before it was named strain of the year in 2020. I also have a Goji crasher strain i made. And my favorite strains for pain and other ailments is my Monkey slapz strain. If you click on my avatar and then on activity and then on topics you can see every strain i have created. I have pictures of each strain from seed to weed take peek and see if something intrests you. I dont really make strains to sell and make a bunch of money. I make them because i enjoy creating my own strains and sharing them with other growers. I do sell 10 qty pack for $50 but i dont mind sending you out something. I do have 35 strains to choose from.
Wisdom. Yes, sir, thank you for that. It makes a ton of sense.
Hi PreyBird, can I know what lights you are using in your tents? Also which brand tent? I ordered 4x4 Vivosun tent kit but I don’t think that’s gonna do it. Some photos but mostly autos I’m planning to do.
Yes i use hlg lights. I typically build my own lights using there boards. And i love vivo sun tents. I also own gorilla tents which are the best but pricy.
Here are some of my light build threads.
espoma organic 333 fertilizer and azomite
I’m not sure if anyone would still be watching this thread, that I have a question about the tent that I am just now setting up. This is what I purchased:
1 × Advance Grow Tent System PRO 5x5, 6-Plant Kit, WiFi-Integrated Controls to Automate Ventilation, Circulation, Full Spectrum LM301H EVO LED Grow Light
I’ve got everything set up, still figuring out the controls. The manual wasn’t very clear on an air intake. But one would assume, that one of these holes at the bottom are meant to pull in air?
I use an intake fan on the bottom of my tent setups.
Thank you for the quick response. @nacho151 I set my in-line fan upstream from my carbon filter mounted at the top of the inside of the tent. So I thought that perhaps one of the large holes at the bottom, which would appear to be intended for intake, should be open. But during flowering season, all that light coming into the tent be a problem? Or my just overthinking it.
No, I don’t think your overthinking it. Before I used a intake fan, I used a vent tube with a piece of black panty hose covering the opening, if the vent tube is long enough to bend it into a s shape it could prevent light entry also.
