Damn, 1000 watts. I didn’t expect that. You sure it’s not a rip off?

Ok I looked up the light. From what I understand it’s actually a 200W lamp?

Well they claim it’s a 1000 watt light, but it actually pulls about 400 watts according to my meter, that’s why I use the side lighting to get light to the center of the plant using it. I have had some great yields with that setup.

Yeah. Not sure why they do that. Lights actually pulling 1000W would get you something more like this:

I got them when I first started growing because it was what I could afford. My plants really took off when I added the side light strips, so I just started to upgrade my lights in the last couple of months. I basically run all my 5 tents and use less that 14 amps total in my grow room. I don’t worry to much about watts as I worry about amps so I don’t have to rewire the room to prevent overloads on the circuit in that room.

Yep, i feel you mate, lights like those photontek’s don’t come cheap. Break the bank. Don’t worry man. They’re good. Just always lookin’ for the optimum here  Good thing to upgrade slowly, there’s no rush.

The thing is I’ve been using them for 3.5 years and after switching to Dakine nutes and grobuckets I’ve been yielding 1.25 lbs a plant. Pretty good for an $80 light setup. I saw where they have upgraded their lights, but I’m going to probably upgrade to all the Iongrid lights eventually. I do like the Ionboard lights except they draw more amps, and the Ionboard lights are cool to the touch, but the tents just heat up the air big time compared to the Iongrid’s.

Yeah that sounds a lot closer to real as I also noticed it looked kinda dark in your tent. I though you were running the AC light too, I couldn’t not run it after spending the money on it LOL .

Just picked this up and planning to use for my transitional heat problems in the future! Small portable evaporation cooler with ice bricks.

I found one on sale at Amazon. It should help those tents in the corner. The 2 A6’s helped a little bit also. I think I can attach the Controller mounts with Velcro and metallic tape without superglue also. I’ll find out when I get the Velcro in the next day or 2.
