The pics are from this morning. Since this problem began, I’ve been feeding water only. Can’t tell if that’s helping or not.
Regarding all the items on the checklist, I would love your feedback and suggestions for improvement. I haven’t improved my general process in a while, and I’d like to do so. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you can provide!
Yes one day difference isn’t going to make a difference. Now when you screw up like I did and have the timer set for 12/12 on a veg cycle…for 2 weeks, now THAT screws things up, took a month to straighten out. lol
Do you have a light par meter? I need know the temps also. Because to me it looks like the light its to far away? Some times if you watch the trichromes as there developing you can see a trend where the plants make trichromes a lot sooner and a lot more of them when the lights a lot more intense. I tried a spider farmer light. And now i only use HLG lights there my favorite. So now i buy there light boards and parts and assemble my own lights. Its far more satisfying to grow your own weed with your own lights you built! I like the feeling of accomplishment far more than just saying look at what i grew. I like a challenge and im an Eagle scout so lets do it!
Lol i have my own seeds, my own lights, and my own weed. I cant make a grow tent or fans and ducting stuff like filters but i try.
Im vertically aligned. I supply myself with everything i need.
I am so discouraged! The Rusty problem on the TriCross plant seems to be spreading to the previously healthy Sour Stomper. Now I have extensive yellowing of fan leaves on both plants. The bad part of the sour stomper plant is the part that is in physical contact w the Tricross plant.
Is it likely that the problem is a pathogen that has literally spread to the second plant?
Or would you say it’s more likely that the problem is a deficiency that’s just manifesting a little later in the sour stomper plant?
The temps were running up to low 80’s in the canopy, and I realized my exhaust wasn’t blowing. Turns out, the temp sensor on my controller was dangling down near bottom of tent where the temp was 12-14 degrees lower. Once I moved the sensor, the exhaust started working fine again. I doubt that has anything to do with the current rusty problem, but fixing this issue is good progress.
This is more likely the issue. Any pics? Also you didnt answer any of the last questions i had for you. Its hard to help you more without pics and more info. We cant be there to see whats going on so we need as much info as we can get.
Id just keep going with what your doing but add food. There going to start eating the leaves for food. And that is what it looks like is happening. The spots are old damage. I would keep feeding them food. Water only will make them yellow more. Start feeding them and ride it out. You cant change it now and if you start feeding they will at least do what they can with the time left. Sometimes once your deep in flower its hard to correct issues. I try and take clones of plants in case it good and i want more, if i screw up the grow its nice to have another try at it with a clone. Some plants want a lot of food and if you miss the feeding amount or timing of feed the plants can get weird quick. And growing new strains can be a liittle tricky when your not familiar with what that strain like in nutrients? Its new to you…no way to know the unknown the first time you grow it.
I am growing in soil that I hoped would provide most of what the plants want. I am now starting to think my soil recipe could be a big contributor to the problem. I’ve only done two grows w this soil, and neither one has been smooth. Plants veg great (thanks to the GroBuckets) and then really struggle during flower. I need to start with some new soil. Would anyone out there be willing to recommend some specific product or recipe?
In terms of bottle nutrients, I’ve read that “less is more” when it comes to feeding soil grows bc these plants are prone to nutrient lockout when doses are too high. But it seems like I actually need to be feeding stronger doses to these plants. What guidance can you provide on this front? I have plenty of GH trio and cal mag…
My light is permanently affixed to top of tent after a previous grow grew too high and I ran out of space. I have the plants on risers to get them closer to the light, but I have always tried to aim for 15-18” between the light and the buds. Can you give me some advice there?
Thanks so much for any thoughts you’re willing to share!
In reality, I need to buy a new light and start a couple good-quality photoperiod seeds so I can mostly rule out genetics and light issues. I am not comfortable building my own lights bc I’ve never done anything like that. Would you recommend an “over the counter” light for a 4x2?
Yep i agree the soil mix could be an issue. I grew using worm castings and kept forgetting to add more and had deficiencies and i said forget it. I just k.i.s.s. or keep it simple stupid.
I only use promix-hp as my media. Ive tried coco, soil all the fox farm, Tupur soil mix. So I primarily use promix-hp. I also grow in a hydroponic rcdw system. And i only use Dakine420 nutrients. In both ways of growing hydro and media. I use the dakine420 nutrients on my house plants and vegetables plants its my favorite stuff.
Then i put the plant in the pot and water it in.
Now remember when I said i primarily use dakine420. Well my only favorite organic nutrients line is Rootsorganic. So when im growing in veg stage i also use this Root organic surge.
This is fine for me, as I prefer to chop, wash, dry, trim, and jar one plant at a time. I’ve grown one previous TriCross plant, and I loved the citrus candy smell—kinda like Sprite. At that time, I felt it was the best pot I’d grown. The smell is back in full force. Can’t help but take a deep inhale and grin every time I unzip the tent. I wish the foliage was looking better, but it looks like many of the sugar leaves are still looking ok.
I removed a bunch of the damaged leaves and fed a strong “flowering” dose of GH nutrients.
The Sour Stomper plant is doing ok, despite a little yellowing. I removed some damaged leaves and fed strong “flowering” dose. The top colas are looking fine and are spread out sufficiently, but I fear I’m gonna end up with lots of larf on the lower sites. I guess I need to defoliate a lot and try to do some final branch training.
That’s the TriCross plant. Not getting any worse. New leaves look healthy. Buds getting bigger. A little more purple coming out. I haven’t started checking trichomes because there are still loads of white pistils still coming. I guess another week or two.
I need your help! It’s almost chop time. I’ve waited too long before, and I don’t want to repeat my mistakes. I’d surely be grateful if you’d share your thoughts on these two.
My TriCross has rebounded since I started feeding it strong doses of nutrients with every watering.
As you can see, the leaf browning has stopped advancing, and new leaves—pretty much all sugar leaves at this time—are all in very good shape. The buds are pushing a few white pistils, still. Some seem to be foxtails.
The buds, especially the lower sites, are still producing plenty of white pistils. I am happy to report that the sites throughout the middle of the plant are fattening up nicely. I had been concerned about tons of larf, but it seems like I might be pleasantly surprised.
