Nutrient burn or what?

How high above canopy is the light to me it looks like the light is too much or too close to the canopy and doing a bit of burning and twisting leaves from heat stress. Could be wrong but I’m a leaner and leaning on too close or too much power. Otherwise they look super good. I’d back light off plants about 6 inches and see where that goes in a couple days.

Naw, you have a nutrient deficiency going on there. Your older leaves are all large and beautiful.
New growth is yellowed and small sized. Most probably a phosphorus deficiency. Looks like perhaps you are low on ppm/EC for the size of plants you have there…What you’re feeding is probably fine. I believe you should bump up your nutrients 10-15% and see what happens in a week…

You give no information on what you’re feeding or pH so it’s very hard to give advice…

Thank you, this was my initial thought…
I have used FFOF perlite and amended initially with GG 4-4-4 and worm castings plants were fine…
Grew fast, (dob May 3)
Used tap water always after 36 hours to de chlorinate…
Ph’ed water after feeding to 6.3.
Then I fed them FF Grow Big and I burned them…
2500 ppm run off and 5.75 PH.
I caught it immediately.
Flushed well with tap PH 6.2 and waited to dry out 75% and then this result appeared.
Purple leaves mid plant with dark purple stems and lime green new growth.
Bottom leaves look good mostly…
Sucks!
I did a very light epson salts foliar spay last night.
Watered them with RO water & fed them very light FF Big Grow and Big Bloom (not Tiger bloom) and CalMag.
PPM 500 & PH 6.3.
Run off was a avg 700 Ppm and PH from 5.85 to 6.2
I was happy with that…
I did move the light up a little bcs of taco ing leaves…
Any advise well received
Thanks!

That helps…Sounds like you made the right conclusion and your flush served it’s intended purpose.
Yup, purple stems definitely phosphorous deficiency.

Ok, so that high EC (2500) probably damaged some roots even before the burn showed up in the foliage.
You may be aware that Phosphorous is the major nutrient responsible for root growth.
You are feeding 500ppm and run-off is 700 ppm so that tells me you are still dealing with a compromised root system…Plants that size should be able to metabolize 1200-1500ppm feedings.
Honestly, that 700ppm runoff may also be surplus nutrient still leaching out…
Point being, I would favor feeding higher P/K nutrients to try and repair that root system. You’re doing great monitoring that runoff pH/EC. As that runoff ppm drops until equal to or less than the feed EC you’ll know she’s in recovery mode. At that point start feeding a P/K fertilizer in increasing doses…
Plant growth rate will tell you when she’s in recovery mode and you can start easing her back up on her ‘regular’ nutes.

My friend, just saying, using tap water will kick your ass sooner or later ! There are MULTIPLE reasons you see just about every successful cannabis grower using R/O water !!

Best of luck…Bob

Question for @TheMadFlascher
I was thinking it was from switching from organic to synthetic nutrients .
Is what might have started his issues.
I think I remember you saying something to me about that.

No my friend, it wasn’t me. Sounds like Broscience.
There is ABSOLUTELY no difference in the nutrient ions between organic and synthetic fertilizers…only the source !
I have no issues with your choice of organic or synthetic programs. Organics tend to be less concentrated than synthetic formulations, so I believe they have a greater safety margin for home gardeners or new growers.

Thank you very much. I don’t remember where I thought I heard that. Im still very new. Trying to remember all the differences between synthetic and organics .

Thank you so much!
Yes, I changed over to RO water yesterday.
Will do!
Appreciated!!

I do remember @TheMadFlascher talking about the difference between organic acids vs. inorganic acids & bases, and the bizarre organic chemistry in general. Found the post (below).
Perhaps that’s what you were thinking of? @greyalien44

Anyway, like Bob said, both organic and synthetic fertilisers are just minerals after all, sourced differently. That said, it’s probably best to stick with either one for your basis, even just 1 brand, because if you don’t you’re feeding different NPK-ratios and things can get complicated. Not talking about additives (like silica or PK-boosters) but your typical basic macronutrient mixes (veg or bloom).
Finding & establishing a good schedule that is not breaking the bank is key imho.

Thanks @MrMonkey420
My biggest problem is my memory. Trying to get better . Depression sucks. And makes me wonder why I bother sometimes.

Yo my memory is a sieve too, most of the time. Sometimes there’s a tiny sparkle of light in the big dark gap that my memory is, and then I grasp and hold onto it in an effort to not let it fade away  Unsuccessfully usually.

Oh yes it does, I too have a lifelong companion named ‘depression’ who’s always by my side or never far away at least. I’ve been on & off the meds (antidepressants), was hospitalised twice: once 2 weeks, the other 6 weeks, did hours & hours of therapy…you know, the whole rim. SSRI’s work a bit but also just take all the good stuff out of life too with me. So I quit those.

It’s better now. My best advice is to meditate daily, put things (life, yourself, opinions, just everything basically) in perspective A LOT, and go back to basics: try to really uptake & enjoy the little things and make good choices (meaning: dare to choose the things that (would) actually make you feel good regardless of anything else like money or someone else’s feelings).

And by all means, smoke a lot of weed BUT don’t lay in bed the whole day, get up and do stuff.

I hear ya. Thanks for reaching out.
I don’t smoke weed to deal with life.
I smoke weed to deal with me .
I’ll never give up on life. It might give up on me though. But trying to stay positive.
@MrMonkey420 and sorry for tying up @mayday
With my life drama. Good luck with your grows
