Hello @Hobbyist! Just a reminder to be careful when users on the forum ask for your personal info. Of course it’s sometimes necessary to provide details if you’re networking or trying to make a put a legitimate deal, but be aware of who is asking for the info. Our general recommendation is that you not post any personal info outside of DMs with members you are dealing with. Beyond that…
If you see a post/get a DM contact requesting personal info, ask yourself:
Do I know this user?
Is the info they’re requesting necessary for what they’re offering?
Is this user new to the forum (check out their posts; signing up and then posting requests for info is a major red flag)?
Is the user posting in a way that brings some value to the users or are they just requesting user information for some kind of offer?
This is not to say that every info request is for some nefarious purpose, probably the opposite, just be careful and think it over before you start handing over your private info
