Haha! I completely agree that’s pushing, and they’re who I bank with!
Respectfully, TD (Toronto Dominion) bank is a Canadian owned bank with American branches, which is why I brought up the point. They have Cannabis accounts on the Canadian side (I know this for a fact) which would disqualify them from banking at all in the US under this legislation. At least by my interpretation.
It is difficult to be absolute about of this…however whether on the US or Canadian side, we share a 4,000 mile border and countless trade relationships. Speaking as a US citizen, we DON’T want our government limiting our choice of business partners…PERIOD.
I completely agree. How can you be so absolute on what’s going to happen when it seems it all come down to a persons mood for the day, including Sessions. Which is why I figured I might as well try and just see how is goes! Hahaha!
I don’t know about you, although I’m sure you do, but I remember back in the day (can’t believe I’m using a “back in my day” reference) when you didn’t even need a passport to cross the border. When I was I child my family would go across the border just to get some ice cream, just cause we could. Now, it’s so difficult to cross the line that it’s not something to look forward to anymore. I ain’t going to just get ice cream in WA any more!
As a Canadian, we also don’t want to see these partnerships limited. I think a great current example is all the tariffs being put onto materials. These trading relationships were developed in order to keep prices of everything low. Buy cheap and sell high. And while these tariffs may force manufacturers to open within the country, how is that going to affect the retail prices? Why do you think everything is made overseas? Cause it’s cheap. Adapting rather than reacting is usually a good idea.
Long story short, making emotion filled decisions like we have seen is the trend from the US government (speaking as an outside observer) should never be the answer and has only caused contention, grief and financial instability in the US and throughout our mother Earth.
I hope there is a day where our international business relationships will be able to operate on a pre-9/11 level. Only time will tell.
And we’ll decorate with flower
Nuken is my favourite flower. I would prefer that over roses any day! Haha!
I am very happy to report this late evening (or early morning rather), that I just finished smoking a beautiful joint from Phat Panda in front of my hotel in Spokane WA.
I FREAKING MADE IT GUYS!!
I got pulled in at the border as expected. But I was totally honest and upfront, told them where I was going and why. They searched my car, questioned me for…about 45 minutes? Then they sent me on my way. Nothing to complain about all things considered.
My heart was POUNDING everybody! I’ve been through the border a million times and I’ve never felt that anxious. It was a great learning experience, but it took a lot of planning.
As a side note, you Americans (at least Phat Panda) know how to grow your Cannabis. That was one of the smoothest smokes I’ve had in a long time, and I have exactly the desired effect. Its exciting to know this is where my country, and my future company is headed.
I will post about my adventures when I get home in a couple days and tell you guys everything.
Glad you made it through OK…did you happen to notice if they are following you with one of those black helicopters or a black Lincoln Navigator with tinted windows, and four guys in suits, wearing reflective aviator sunglasses, two of then in trench coats in August trying to make their Uzis less noticable.
