Since October 19th, cannabis for medicinal purposes (less than 1% THC) and industrial hemp are legal in Ecuador, South America.
We are a small non-profit agricultural cooperative that is going to ask for a Cannabis production license (You can check the regulation here: https://twitter.com/CooproAnanda/status/1318580338185089026). Along with other 2 non-profit organization, we would like to have a volunteer that can teach us everything we need to know. She/he must have experience in:
large scale growing (between 300 and 20,000 square meters).
hydroponics
pest management and control
lights, irrigation
Cannabis waste management
extraction, edibles, other products
spanish (desirable)
We can provide housing in a family, meals and a small weekly/montly fee for pocket money. The main project is based in the central highlands of Ecuador, in the capital of the Chimborazo province, city of Riobamba (Riobamba - Wikipedia).
The team will start working remotely ASAP to develop a 200 square meter hydroponic system. In situ work will start once we have the license, that could be April 2021.

Thanks for your time, greetings from the middle of the world, Ecuador.
So is this going to be a indoor or outdoor grow? Or both? There are lots of jobs getting posted here in the US and elsewhere for GOOD pay, I don’t think your going to have much luck getting someone down there for living expenses, unless they just want to take a expenses paid trip to South America.
I thought about retiring there. There are quite a few ex-pat communities down there. You might want to put feelers out in that community. Might find a horticulturist already living there.
We at Key to Life Supply have a hemp farm in Ecuador we have worked with since 2019.
I’m familiar with the .1% THC limit and it’s very forgiving.
We are here to help you from the USA by phone and email without charging you money.
@paulcoyote, lovely watching you grow from strength to strength in the middle of the world. Wishing you the best success for 2021. Wish I could pack it in here and come and help. What an opportunity and get out the comfort zone and do something new and different. @FarmerK awesome to help with hands on experience. Big things coming out Ecuador that is for sure.
Hi @FarmerK, thanks for your help! We are going to start with a small 100 square meter hydroponics and will go up further. The regulation states that you have to get a minimum of 2 hectares in 5 years, so, we’ll start small until the 1% limit is reached. Also, we wanto to grow organic 100%!
