Roots are looking good. Top of the plant i accidentally sprayed with a nutrient solution and it burned the leaves pretty good. I grabbed the wrong bottle but it was too late.
I never used one, so I am no help, However, I have used just a glass of water or just plain soil, as soon as the roots are established and healthy I was good to go.
Your roots are off to a great start! I have used aeroponic cloners for15 years and I have found that waiting until you have a mass of roots about 6 inches long is the best time to plant them. This typically takes about 14 days total time in the machine. I like them best going into 1 gallon pots and what you will find is that they absolutely take off. I’m not sure how your misstep with the foliar will impact things, especially that plant in the first photo with the curled leaves. What medium are you planting into?
Ocean forest soil. Im going coco or pro mix next. But ultimatley im trying to refine my hydro kloner technics/skills befor i start my DWC. I have it set up but im not confident in my cloning yet.
Thanks for the replies. I will wait then. What is a good temp for the water in the cloner? I have been around 72 and i think its a little cold and its slowing the clones root growth speed?
Actually, if your plants are going into DWC you could use that chart. It’s from Current Culture to be used with their under current systems. Note how the feeding is about half the strength of what you would feed in a soiless media.
Im more interested how the tubing comes out of the pumps and into the tubing that feeds those tops. I made my kit then i read on here about if you lower the water in the buckets the roots grow more but you have to water at upper roots also and it got me thinking ahhhh right need water at both places at the same time.
Oh update thought i woukd test out 1 clone in a small pot to see what happens. It DRIED out within 10 hrs and was straight up dust before i got home from work. Now i know. LEAVE them alone. Also i think the oceanforest was way to dry for the transplant. Ive had some issues with ocean forest being very dry and i do not like it. If you let it get to dry in between waterings the water will roll off of it and spill off the edges. Or run out of the fabric pots fast. I have to water every 12 hours or tje plants will dry up in these fabric pots.
In mine, a small pump moves nutrients through the top tube that drips into the bucket. The bottom tube is a gravity feed that goes back to the control bucket.
Mine pumps in a square and the return comes down the middle tube back into the main bucket. Im wondering if i could use a barb and feed them off that main middle tube?
The way you have it set up is totally fine and a proven way of doing it. I did mine this way to allow me a bit more flexibility.
These guys run a hydro store and make DIY builds for their channel. Here’s their DWC build. https://youtu.be/j4vqtWesH18
Nice the hydro shop also had the trays you had on top of cups they drained out into a gravity drain flood table.
I want mine to feed from the top while also circulating through the bottom with only 1 pump.
