We have been involved in the retail security field for over 30 years and have been designing security strategies in the cannabis industry for the last 5 years. We have worked with cannabis business owners in over 20 States and Canada. We consult in all 3 phases of starting and operating a business in the cannabis industry.

Phase One - Application Writing
We work closely with prospective cannabis business owners across the US and Canada by writing the security section of state/city applications which includes a physical security floor plan design. Some of our recent achievements include helping our clients receive 6 licenses in PA (second highest security score), 2 in OH, and 1 of only 4 licensees issued in Manitoba, Canada. We also have helped clients receive more than 20 cannabis city-approved permits throughout CA and are now working on CA state application preparations. During the application process, we have also been asked to present our client’s security program to local city and law enforcement officials for feedback and approval. Currently, we are writing the security section of cannabis applications in OK, CA, FL, NJ and MI.

Phase Two: Security Project Manager
Unlike most other cannabis security companies, we do not sell any physical security equipment. Our role is to only work for the client by helping to design their physical security needs, i.e., video, alarms, access control, safes, and to review bids from various security vendors. On average, we save our clients over $20,000 per location on equipment and installs compared to initial vendor bids. We have designed physical security equipment installs for 57 cannabis locations nationwide ranging from 1,200 sq. ft. Dispensaries to over 200,000 sq. ft. Cultivation Facilities.

Phase Three: Security Policies and Procedures
This is the most important phase that many cannabis owners do not think of when opening a cannabis location. In this phase, we help design the day-to-day security policies and programs that help keep businesses profitable and also safe, i.e.: cash management, employee culture of honesty, robbery awareness, opening and closing procedures, emergency procedures, etc. On some occasions, we will also act as the client’s security director until they have the resources to add an in-house security director. Over the years, we have trained many ex-law enforcement and military personnel on the art of retail cannabis security so they could fill these in-house positions.
