AC infinity or spider farmer enviroment controller?

Hello all. I’m a newer grower. I have an e42a vivosun controller and other vivosun products in my main tent. I really like there products but I want to get a co2 monitor and they don’t make 1. Ac infinity and spider farmer both have one and i like a lot of birth there products ac infinity is ai driven more expensive and not sure if it will operate with non ac infinity. Spider farmer looks great for the price but just wanted to see if anyone out there has bought these enviroment controllers and what they liked and didn’t like. Thanks. Happy growing.

Hi growmie…I have no experience with those CO2 devices… have not seen a need for them in my grow…

Hi @greenbtree

NIWA support a CO2 module, and many have tested and enjoyed the system here on GN. Its also made in USA.

CO2 can build up relatively quickly in a room, especially in enclosed spaces with poor ventilation or a large number of occupants. Typical indoor CO2 levels can range from 400-1,000 ppm, but they can easily exceed 1,000 ppm in a short amount of time, particularly in bedrooms or cars with limited air exchange.

Typically, cannabis plants thrive in an environment with a CO2 concentration of around 1000 parts per million (ppm), which is higher than the natural concentration in the atmosphere (around 400 ppm)

Some growers use CO2 supplementation techniques, such as introducing CO2 gas into their growing environment, to raise the concentration of CO2 and boost plant growth. However, it’s important to note that while CO2 can be beneficial for cannabis growth, excessive amounts of CO2 can be harmful to humans and the environment. Additionally, the use of high levels of CO2 in the cultivation of cannabis plants can be costly and energy-intensive. It is important for growers to balance the benefits of CO2 supplementation with the potential risks and costs.

How CO₂ Enhances Cannabis Cultivation.

A typical adult human exhales about 13 liters of CO2 per hour at rest. This rate can vary depending on activity level, with more vigorous exercise increasing CO2 production. On average, a person exhales around 2.3 pounds of CO2 per day.

Indoor home grows dont really need more. Unless its way out of humans and pets. I would get a little monitor first and see what your levels are before you make any big purchases.

So basically I’m just looking for a new controller for my smaller grow tent . I would like it to have a c02 monitor level if possible. I just use a c02 bag and am not prepared to use a gas set up and is not necessary either. I have a vivosun e42a… i like it but i was looking at getting either the ac infinity ai controller the spider farmer or mars hydro controller 43

I love the tech that infinity has been coming out with. Im not a good example of tech anymore. Ive gone the complete opposite. I want as little tech now.

I know they do have some cool stuff have you seen the terraform ? Looks really cool out of my price range right now but looks like it does it all… as for the controller i think I’m sold on the ac infinity i did some research there controller can be used with vivosun and everything i have is mostly vivosun.

I can tell you one thing, AC Infinity’s AI controller is dumb as a rock. Whoever is doing the programming there doesn’t seem to understand that you don’t control temp with the humidifier. Instead of ramping up the exhaust fan speed to bring down the temp, the controller ramps up the humidifier output. the humidifier is a cool mist version and while it does bring the temp down, that is not how it should be done. The only way to make it behave properly is to do a separate program yourself, which it will let you do, but it doesn’t allow you to program it to use the AI it is either a separate program, or it is AI.

Example, when your light shuts off at night, instead of just maintaining your humidity VPD, and allowing you to input the on off light schedule, it just turns the exhaust fan on to what ever your max setting is in the AI program and just keep it running even though the outside temp is lower than what you want the tent to be. And that is just butt stupid, and the reason it is, is that it does have an inside the tent and outside the tent humidity and temp sensor, so it SHOULD know that the outside temp is lower and not ramp up the fan. Now I don’t have a AC Infinity light that is plugged into the controller, and maybe if I did it would then use the light on off schedule along with the VPD and temp setting to maintain the environs…but I doubt it.
