Ack! Scared of failure, but here goes my first journal - old subject line LOL

So, I belong to a Buy Nothing group and this person was giving away a bicycle and look what I spy in the background …

So, I DM them and ask if they are planning to give away or sell this/these and she replied yes. They are asking $40 each tent. Zeny 2 x 4 … they also said they had lights, fans, etc. Everything is like new. I replied asking for the third dimension number (isn’t there usually three? Height, width, depth?) but can I assume it’s 2’W x 2’D x 4’H??? She hasn’t replied.

In any case, has anybody heard of the ‘Zeny’ brand of grow tent?

I’ll send more info on the other offerings later.

Cool find! It looks like it’s 2 x 4 x 5.

There’s a few reviews listed as well.

If it is, I’m getting it. Do you want the other one? Maybe I can make a deal with them to buy everything bringing the price down to a bundle. LOL … thanks for checking. I did check and only saw the one size, but assumed there were more not showing. Maybe it’s just the one size!

Here is her whole reply but she hasn’t gotten back to me on full size of tent or lights info:
“No worries about the questions!
The tent is a zeny 2×4. I’ll have to go look into the lights brand and more info. The fans are 4” in line fan + speed controller. $30 for 1 set of fan, ducting and speed controller. He has three total. One unopened fan."

@OlyBoy … by her reply, I’m beginning to think maybe she only has one tent? But photo looks like there is two. Hmmmm … I just wrote her to tell her I would take one tent and one incline fan w/speed control. I might take more. I’d like for her to tell me more about the lights. And maybe I need more than one fan?

I’m not sure how many fans are needed.

I think everyone here want to know what kinds of lights they have that you might be able to pick up!

@1sttimegrower it looks like it is identical to the AC Infinity tent I just got, the way it is made is exactly the same the way the zipper runs around three sides. The only thing missing is the metal plate for the AC controller on the front. The snap in buttons on the pole connectors are the same too. I bet that AC Infinity has their tent made by this company. They make a 4x4x80 too $90. At $69 and free shipping for a new one you can’t hardly lose lol.

Nice find.

Finally got info on the lights. There are two Mars Hydro 300 60 LED.

There is an unbranded grow light 100pcs dual chips 85v x 265v 50 60 Mhz.

She didn’t quote a price on the lights, so I asked and am waiting. I just bought a Mars Hydro 600 a few weeks ago.

She DOES have two Zeny tents and as you described, they ARE 2 x 4 x 5 and is asking 40 each. I am only getting one of them.

No pics of the fans. “The fans are 4” in line fan + speed controller. $30 for 1 set of fan, ducting and speed controller. He has three total. One unopened fan."

So, I’m going to do a little bit of research on these but would love to hear any of y’all’s thoughts. Thanks so much!

You can go on YouTube and look them up you might find some old reviews from when they are new. Just an idea might explain everything about them by a user. :+1:t3:

Yes, I’ve done a bit of that, too. Y’all are just so much more knowledgeable and I know who here to trust.

Personally I wouldn’t buy the old style Blurple light, they will grow things, just not nearly as well as the new ones. Do you have to pay shipping on the tent and stuff ?

Marty.

Is the blurple one the unbranded one?

No, this is a buy nothing group which is a neighborhood give your junk to them and they give their junk to you group. LOL. She lives a mere 4 blocks from me.

 Always good to hear from you, Marty.

Not sure about that one, the two name brands are Blurples. Just do a google search and those lights will come up with pictures of them on. Great to hear you can go pick em up !! That is a great bargain on a tent…did she every tell you what she wanted for the rest of it? I would check out the fan with speed controller if the price is right.

Mars Hydro 300

Lookin forward to seeing your grow ! :slightly_smiling_face:

I finally found out that all three lights are blurples. Since I already have the new Mars Hydro 600, I think I’m going to pass. She wanted $40 each for the Hydro Mars 300 and $50 for the unbranded one, which had a veg/bloom switch. I don’t understand how something can be unbranded, but I found the same one on Ebay and also unbranded. Weird.

She wants $30 for each ‘set’ of 4" inline fans with ducting and speed controller. I’m going to take at least one of them. I have no other details on those.

She wants $40 each for each Zeny 2 x 4 x 5 tent and I’m taking one of them. She did confess that the zippers are hard to zip. But everything is less than a year old, almost new.

I’ve been very busy as I’ve returned to school yet again to get my office skills brushed up so I can get back to work. I can’t believe I’m in school again at 60. I just earned my BS in Library Science in 2020.

Hope everybody is doing okay. I really need to catch up. xoxo

i’ve got a bunch of clones already jump-started if you want a few.

Try bee’s wax or even Pam cooking spray on the zippers, that seems to help with tent zippers.

Little tip, like I said before my AC tent is a bitch to zip open and shut. They replaced the fabric but I’m in the middle of a grow and until they break, I won’t be changing the fabric out on the poles, it was a absolute struggle in my small coal room. And like I said I think that the Zeny is made at the same place as the AC Infinitys are or is the maker. I just the other night decided to see if the pure silicone spray that I use on certain things on my motorcycles would help the zippers, so I sprayed it thourely before the lights went out and then in the morning it was all dry, it helped tremendously, so you might want to try that. I used silicon because the zippers are plastic and you don’t want to use petroleum based lubercant on plastic. Soulnd like you are real close to getting all set up !! Good job.
