Hey folks! It’s my first grow and I need a piece of advice. My buds have just started forming. Do I have to cut off those smaller buds which are in the red circles on my pics? I got them all over the plant. Or should those tiny buds stay as well?

No. I wouldn’t cut those off. They look high on the plant from what I can see in the pictures, so they should produce well. If you post a further back picture of the whole plant I’m sure you’ll get more advice on possibly defoilating, etc. But those bud sites look good.

Here is the whole plant. Some buds are low. But there are smaller buds even on higher stems.

The ones initially circled I’d say leave. I’m sure someone will be able to chime in, and suggest removing some fan leaves to let light to the bud sites better than I’m able.

Is that one plant in the tent? If it is I would put netting down and try to get more light coverage and maximize the space. I would take the unit out of the tent. Looks good.

These are 2 plants. The second is just much smaller. Unfortunately, I can’t take out AC from the tent, sometimes it’s very hot. So I got limited space. Trying to do my best.

Appreciate you as well

Can you put a dehumidifier outside the tent?

Good day! Welcome to the Growers Network. One of the biggest issues folks face is lack of information to grow on. That meaning what they are doing everyday isn’t written down so they can’t make proper guesses on what went wrong. You start right out journaling. You will be a great grower in no time. The journaling is one of the greatest tools we have to keep from making the same mistakes. Great job!

Just freed some space for the plant and set a net. Now it’s better! Thanks a lot

@hazehazehaze , welcome to GN and nice growing. Your latest picture above, your lady needs some good water, you can see her leaves drooping.

Hi. Thanks a lot. Actually, this picture was taken at night. She is sleeping here. I don’t think it’s a lack of water. The leaves look down every night. Isn’t it okay? This is how she looks as waking up

Yes that is normal to look droopy after lights have been off a couple hours.

dude that second lady in front looks like she has some really good potential!! Digging the fat fans!
+1 on @happyhippy leaves only perk up when transpiring, so they can droop at night. As long as they come back up, its all good.

IMO if the bud site gets 50% or more light I keep it in my home grows. I just make sure to keep upping the feed rates until I just barely get some tip burn on the leaves then dial back a bit. You want to make sure those little buds and inner popcorn buds dont take away from your main colas but they also provide some good trim/processing material for really no loss of yield if you stay on top of fertilizing.
*get a CO2 bag or source if you dont have one yet!

Thanks man. I will try to get that CO2 bag. Listen, the bigger plant is Peyote Purple, the second one is CVF OG. They come from the same source. I smoked them both from a professional grower. They are both equally strong but have different highs. CVF gives a more stoned effect, the Purple gives a strong high and energy buzz. As of leaves, I thought it was just genetics. Do you mean that the bigger plant should also have fat fans?

Nope that tracks.
Skinny fan leaves, lankier growth = likely sativa dominant - high characteristics are energetic euphoria
Fat fans, smaller plant = likely indica dominant - high characteristics are euphoric sedation.

looks like you got what you should expect! looking forward to them stacked! good luck dude!

I wouldn’t remove any bud sites unless you can’t get light to them… you could gently bend the branches & tie them down to expose hidden bud sites. This is a major game changer on getting buds bigger. You could remove fans leaves that covering bud sites. Just don’t over do it. It’s safe to clear out the center of the plant closet to the main stalk to ensure air flow also. looking good:wink:
