Out side temp does impact over all yield but if root zone is heated or cooled the plants are vibrant and healthy and produce greater yield as we saw in our pilots during greenhouse growing during the summer and out doors sun grown summer/fall

Boaz can you let us know more about where Roots has operations internationally?

Wow! Thatā€™s impressive! In how many of those markets is Roots specifically in the cannabis industry?

What was the process like going through the prestigious technology incubator program administered by the Israel Chief Scientist Office? It sounds rigorous!

Its too complicated to explain but its vigourus selection process and you get funded by the govt for 3 years and return 4% from sales

it depends on type of the soil 5-10 meters usually

You have been recognized by both NASAā€™s Tech Briefs Magazine as ā€œdisruptive and importantā€. Thatā€™s very prestigious recognition to say the least! Are there plans to take this technology to space?

Thatā€™s not very deep at all compared to many other geothermal technologies. It makes integrating your tech very approachable in a number of different types of soils and bedrocks. How long does it typically take to install one of your systems?

NO - there is enough work on earth with it. we can Irrigate cannabis completely off water or electricity grids with solar operated IBC (Irrigation by Condensation)

Can you explain the Israeli AgTech market and why it is a center of global innovation?

Israel is a water and resource scarce nation and inventions are needed to answer these problems. California has similar weather so many of the solutions that fit Israel apply to CAL

What does the perfect operation for Rootsā€™ technology look like?

Hi Boaz,

Just saw your YouTube video on how your systems work, really cool stuff!

As I was looking at your website I noticed it says that there is significant energy and cost savings. Can you expand a bit on how a Roots system helps lower energy consumption and at the end of the day save money.

Thanks!

The coils are insetred undeground with the help of a dril, we connect water distribution pipes from the coils to the greenhouse and then run the water with stable temp near the roots. The grower/farmer sees on his mobile the temp and other operational parameters live if he wants. Once the pits with the coils are covered you use the road or pass way with no problems

Due to the use of ground source heat exchange we receive stable water temp coming out of the coils embedded underground, so we do not invest energy either to cool or heat the water in the basic configutation, just to circulate the water between the underground and the root zone area- we use heat pump to boost heating and cooling as needed or use them in places where we cant dig and that takes a bit more energy then the ground source heat exchange alone. In case of air heating and cooling you can reduce use of air temp while incorporating our system

What kind of upfront costs might a grower expect to incur? How quickly might the system pay for itself?

Installation costs depends on few parameters. we send a questionnaire for you to fill in and then provide a quote. IN our experiment in Israel the yield increase was worth 100,000+ USD per quarter acre in Israeli process so the system returns investment in one season! not sure if this will be the same for everyone but assume 1-2 years max is a sure bet
