Another great question. Hemp is an area we have received genuine interest in and with great success! Check out the attached link of one of our hemp customers.

One additional note, we have relevant installs and successes within Co2 and ethanol extraction for examples.

The cooler aspect is that we have a vast variety of teeth and configurations to fit needs for destruction, extraction or any application that would like to make “BIG THINGS, small”.

Think of us as a “Lego factory” for grinders. More importantly, we take a true consultative approach to identifying the solution that fits our partners exact needs— every time.

Have you found the need for bigger shredders in the cannabis industry in recent years? Are you seeing larger, commercial growers needing larger shredders as their operations scale?

Yes we have seen a need for bigger shredders as our customers have scaled up. Years ago, everyone was using wood chippers, but as the industry evolved, so has the need for a more reliable, robust solution.

We have an increased demand for our larger scale solutions, like our 4-SHRED series.

Our favorite upgrade was the guy using two machetes and found our solution was a little more robust, time saving, and safe!!

Regulations dictate that grinded waste be “unusable and unrecognizable,” and the recommendation is that cannabis waste be combined with other waste such as plastic, cardboard, or other household waste (even food). What do you recommend that works best with your product? Can you adjust for different sizes of grinded output?

Currently we have customers mixing material, like food waste, cardboard, etc. We can handle all kinds of mixed materials.

Important to note is that we are seeing more customers wanting to employ a more sustainable solution versus landfill.

We’ll miss his swordsmanship but I’m sure he’ll appreciate keeping all his limbs

How did you acquire that first cannabis customer?

We have been providing industrial shredders since 1973 and as a long time provider of solutions, the customer reached out to us

Could you calculate what percentage of your customers are opting for landfill diversion/ onsite composting versus those that are sending waste to landfills? Do you see you machines leading to significant diversion of waste from landfills?

a vast majority of our customers were going to landfill. We are seeing a trend towards composting and other sustainable practices.

As a matter of fact, we work with multiple partners who provide systems for sustainability that employ our technology

That’s great news! It seems only natural that your machines might lead to a greener future :evergreen_tree:

There are many oils/residues in cannabis plants. How do you minimize gunk and buildup on the teeth of your machines? Are the components of the machines easy to break down and clean?

Our systems have been designed to operate within wetted environments. As far a cleaning, a pressure washer would do! :grinning:

Here are some pics of the different cutter combinations we can provide for both destruction or processing applications. We can configure accordingly…

As you know, growers face cashflow challenges, as well as many being startups. Are financing arrangements available?

Yes, cashflow challenges are common.

We work with third party finance companies that specialize in the cannabis industry. They work with our customers to provide leasing and finance options. These finance companies have been great for our customers.

What kind of warranties/customer support do you offer in the event of equipment issues or breakdown?

In the unlikely event that one of our customers has an issue we are always there to support them. The standard product warrant is 18 months from ship or 12 months from start-up. On top of that we offer a continuum of care package where our field service team will come out to do a multi-point inspection. Fortunately in the cannabis industry we have not really seen any issues over the last 4 years.
