Do you foresee an update or additional module in the future that will be able to test for terpene profiles.
Not 100% dry. Typical buds you find at a dispensary contain about 6% water weight.
That would certainly be possible.
The next generation device uses cartridges. One cartridge would be used for testing pesticides, another could be for terpenes. We have received a number of inquiries on testing for E. Coli, Salmonella, and other microbials. What are your thoughts on that?
Great idea! Definitely!
I hear you are working on a unit that will be able to analyze the exact proportions of THC and CBD. What’s the status?
, and regarding flower, have you found there be a lot of variance between how products are advertised and your test results as far as % of THC?
Love the idea of that, being able to test for terpenes and potential harmful stuff would be very useful.
There seems to be a lot of uses for this device. Very impressive. And I could imagine uses outside the canna industry as well.
Hello Kelly,
Does it test CBD and THC levels on dried flowers?
As an engineer, the term “exact” is difficult. The goal is to provide a ratio of THC to CBD, however, as with any other measurement instrument, there will be margins of error.
Our customers have indicated (very vocally) that they wanted a THCa / THC ratio so we have prioritized that feature ahead of the THC /CBD feature.
The current device tests THCa on dried flowers. Unfortunately, in the UV spectrum, THCa and CBDa look very similar so we are unable to distinguish between the two.
We are planning to test THC and CBD in decarboxylated flower.
@tcheck_kelly, where do you see this technology evolving in the next year? How about in the next five years? Where do you hope to fit into the cannabis industry in that time?
Thanks for your reply
In the near term, we have a number of software capabilities we are planning to introduce. In addition to cannabinoid ratios (THCa / THC) or (THC / CBD) we’ve mentioned, other things on our roadmap include:
- Tare base oil / alcohol
- Lot tracking
- Other base solvents (VG, honey, etc.)
- Interface to manufacturing tracking software
We love hearing from our customers on features they would like to see. Please contact us at support@tcheck.me to let us know what you would like to see. Our priority list is completely based on your input.
Longer term, we are working on the pesticide / microbial testing device.
We believe that cannabis producers and consumers need to know what they are making & consuming. Transparency is vital to bringing cannabis mainstream.

Happy Growing
Thank you so much for the great questions! It has been very fun chatting with you. If you have any additional questions (or feature requests), please reach out at support@tcheck.me.
Thanks, tCheck for chatting with us! To the chat attendees, read this thread again: there will be a test…
Thanks so much for taking the time.
Highest test score receives a unit? Haha
