Anyone testing carbon/charcoal prior to disposal?

Hello @mastergrowers, @GrowOpEmployees and @growopowners -

Need some guidance on disposing of spent carbon/charcoal used for odor control. Has anyone had the media tested for VOC content after a defined period of time to determine proper waste classification prior to disposal? Anyone found it to be hazardous for excessive VOC(s)? Anyone tracked the exhaustion rate of the media against sq/ft and # of air exchange to find the sweet spot before its spent and fails for VOC’s?

Thank you

I have never. Anyone else?

No, the lab testing would cost more than the replacement filter. It’s an organic component, I take it home and sprinkle it on my lawn and mix into compost piles. It can go in greenwaste cans too. Recycle the steel or aluminum bits.
