Most of the insecticidal soaps are coming with same formula ( Des-X, Kopa , etc ) 47% of potassium salts of fatty acids with recommended rate of 2% dilution , and horticultural oils with 80 % Mineral Oil (Suffoil-x,Monterey … ) with recommended dilution of 1-2% .
I would like to use the Horticultural Oils it looks like they work best , but they can be dangerous for new cuttings , i have tested dilution of 0.125% it kills mites , hope eggs too , i hope there is no phytotoxicity .
Does anyone has experience with dipping new cutting in oils and soaps and what brand and rate have you used ?

I will publish the results from my experiment . I did cloning about 1500 cuttings , and 200 of them are used as experiment : dipped in different dilution of Horticultural Oil 2%,1% and 0.5% ; dipped in Soap 2% and 1% ; Zero Tol ; Combinations of Zero Toll and Soap and Oil ;
Also i have some methods to compare as cutting the leaves , the stem , feeding with 500 ppm and etc .
It looks like all dips are working , beside Soap 2% , and from the methods it looks like there is no difference actually it looks like if you dont do any of those methods works the best . But i will know better when i transplant in few days when i will put on paper in percentage …

Some statistic about cloning ; Results are written on day 10 of cloning ; Cloned in rockwool first 4 days in domes , day 5 without on 80% humidity and 75 F , using cloning gel . I never cut the leaves or doing any additional damage on the stem beside the diagonal cut thats my normal way of cloning . The results were expected : no difference between feeding with food or without ; all dipping combination were good beside slight phytotoxicity on Soap 2% , the root temperature play big role and for me expected cutting leaves slow the rooting …
