Have you tried a Scripto Turbo?
It’s meant to light gas grilles and fireplaces but it carries a lot of fuel and a seemingly hotter flame than a Bic.

I like the shape. The paddle for the gas is large (easy light), and the safety is easy to remove (even easier light). Also, the flame is HUGE.

Well they are four for $10 at Costco. They have a real adjustable flame. One is even refillable. The downside is that they are bulkier. I generally use them at home so it’s not an issue but they are a favorite of many tobacco pipe smokers.
