Are Big Cannabis Brands Killing the Small Grower?

Big companies are taking over more of the market, making it harder for small growers to compete. With high costs, tough regulations, and limited shelf space, is there still room for small, craft growers to survive?

Have you seen this happening in your area? What challenges are small growers facing, and how can they stay in the game? Let’s talk!

420% right @getglass . Its happening all over the world, big corporate, government funded brands. But there will always be space for the mom and pop, craft cannabis growers. One thing that this plant and industry needs is passion, love, consistency and integrity, mostly the big companies lack these qualities. So stay in your lane, dont sell out and people will come.

Absolutely.

Around here, St. Louis MO. Pot is everywhere, drive down most any street in the summer and you can smell it growing. Get it traffic and you can smell it being smoked lol.

It is literally everywhere. Prices are in the basement. Dispensaries are selling “popcorn” bud for $45 an ounce. The top shelf stuff for quite a bit more but coming down all the time. They are beginning to use better genetics and their stuff is getting better. If your stuff isn’t the best, and the smoothest to smoke, and rings all the bells your sunk if you are trying to make a profit off of your grow. Which is BTW STILL illegal, even in states that have legal medical and recreational unless of course you are a favored friend of a crooked politician getting kickbacks from the rich commercial grow houses. Here in MO is it legal for anyone over 21both medical and recreational. BUT it must be in a jar from a dispensary and you must have the receipt or it is still the same as it always was, illegal to have and illegal to sell.

Isn’t that just a hoot? Illegal if they don’t get their tax dollars and legal if they do. That is legal tax corruption to the core.

Plus the cost of everything is getting to be sky high all the nutes, soil lights, electric pots and on and on and on. Me I just grow for me now. Growing the plants smaller as I can’t hope to smoke all of it from grow to grow. I know at least 20 people that are growing it in their backyards in the summer now. One guy I know puts in 6-8 plants (just did) and full sun first peep of light to the last and they get huge. He got 25 pounds of cleaned bud last year. He can’t get rid of it so he is making it all into hash lol.
