Are Blumat siphon-waterers sufficient as the sole feeding source?

Are these Blumat siphon feeding devices ok to use as the sole watering source for a single plant?
Is one of them sufficient for a single plant in a three or five gallon pot?
I have not used them. My understanding is that the water container must be elevated higher than the plant’s pot. Is that correct?

Well watching videos and reading yes it does have to be elevated higher than the plant pot as it is gravity fed and the moist soil around is like the check valve. Once dried so much it will release water to keep the area moist. I would think prolly 2 or 3 per pot but u’ll have to experiment some as it may keep soil too moist and dampen off the plant.

I am going to give them a try. The plant is young enough that, if the Blumats don’t work properly, I can revert to manual watering.
