Arizona Grow

Usually I take care of them by picking up the leaves that have fallen off and sweeping them out of the greenhouse.

Joking, I do a little more, but not much

Any reason you leave the soil so low in the bags? And that is quite some mix you got going there with the hydroton in there.

Strangely - no there is no reason. Aesthetics perhaps, water containment, fuck, I don’t know.

As for the mix of medium, yeah, that’s a bunch of recycled medium from different grows that had different nutrients and so forth. It’s definitely not optimal, it was available. My funds at the time were fully dedicated to building the UMRK.

So what you are saying is that I should fill them all the way up huh? Will do sir. I will need to plant 6 more soon enough if all goes according to plan, guess I can fill them all the way up.

More soil in the pot larger roots zone better plant growth. I think he was asking why you didn’t start out that way not saying to top it off.

We’ll see when he gets done typing. :joy:

No wasn’t saying you need to fill them up, just asking if there was some reason for the low amount. I always fill mine pretty much to within an inch of the top, they always seem to settle down as you water, and most times I even put more in the top of each bag as the grow progresses. The reason I do that is if I have a healthy grow going the roots completely fill the top layer of soil to within a 1/4 of the surface. I like to add some amendments in the top layer of soil like Fulvic acid, Diastic malt seaweed meal etc for organics even if I’m feeding with synthetics, I have found that it really helps the flavor adding organics, it helps with several things, inocculant food, emzyme production etc. And if the roots are all the way to the top of the soil it makes it hard to mix in the goodies without tearing up roots. Just curious. Your plants look very healthy indeed! Love the way you have the seeds perfectly spaced lol.

The sad reality is that I buried those plants about an inch and some when I put them in there, and they are low, so gosh, I think the actual beginning of the root ball will be about 75% up at best.

Great point of consideration for future operations @happilyretired and @sssportsmfg

I honestly have never filled a bag all the way up, and I have noticed the decline in the depth over all after you have progressed well into the grow, from watering as @sssportsmfg stated.

Something else I have noticed is an overall displeasure with the roots when I am done and harvested. Maybe some humic and fulvic acid need to make their way into the diet of my ladies.

A little Gnome lives on that mossy knoll.

Little man is off to the Dr.

He bumped his head yesterday at the park. Was kind of out of it for a bit but he came back to normal, had his dinner and bedtime routines usual. Woke up and saw he had vomited while sleeping, and he was super out of it this morning so I kept him home. His Madre just picked him up and is taking him to see the Dr, as he puked again this morning about two hours after wake up. I’m sure he is fine, but it doesn’t change the fact that I am beyond worried.

Good thing you took him to the Dr. Puking is a serious sign, most likely a concussion. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!!

Thanks brother. Yeah I’m kind of freaking out on the inside. When I was 26 I had a subdural hematoma. Half my skull is titanium, so naturally this distresses me like crazy.

His Madre messaged me and said the Dr told her he is all right and to keep doing what we are doing, no TV or visual stimulation, rest and relax until tomorrow.

Glad to hear he’s gonna be all right. :+1:t3:

You have no idea. The final prognosis was that he has a mild concussion, he has puked up his water again, then he took a good nap, and he just had a snack that he has kept down and ate with enthusiasm.

His mother has him now, she is an RN so hopefully he is in good hands. I can’t be critical, he got a concussion on my watch right?

I agree 100% here. I also use organics and synthetics together. Its my hybrid nutrients i like to use. I actually water every day with roots organic Surge its got a lot of what you like. There a lot of goodies in there. I like all the additives without all the mixing and making. In liquid form i use surge and Hp2. I also use calmag every watering in small amounts. I like to make promix like soil. Soon ill be testing a new slow release silica product in a test grow. Its very promising and exciting! I just need to figure out my grams per liter for my amount of soil ill be testing it in. (1 g/L = 1.0 kg/m3 ) damn math…i suck at it. I have a base ratio so ill be ok.
