Personally I think dry trim makes the bud taste better when you smoke it.
That may be the truth. This is my first wet trim so I’ll find out soon enough.
Ive tried it both ways and dry trims is better terps and taste. So now i de-fan leaf and hang to dry. Im at 2 days on 4 plants i just cut down. Later ill trim them better when they absorb more of the plants moisture and are ready to jar.
I do it the same way now. I like the what it does for flavor! And the tumbler trimmer works better if the buds are 85% dry.
Tumblr trimmer?
Yep, I finally got large enough yields and justified getting a tabletop Tom’s Tumbler, works great and with mine I can trim and process about 1.5 pounds of bud in 45 minutes. Better than being hunched over for a couple of days in trim jail! If you have the kief screens run the trim in it and save time instead of making bubble hash!
I think I schwant that.
Small update, only took about 18 hours and the buds are dry enough for the burping phase. Let the two weeks begin.
I use this little thing from Vivosun. It does a well enough job. Next crop I am going to try it with the dry trimming blade and obviously, dried herbs.
If you are thinking about getting one, save up enough money for the TTT1900. You can do up to 2 pounds at a time and it also comes with the 151 kief screen. I got the TTT1600 hand crank model and slapped a motor on it and had to buy the other screen separately. Plus the TTT1900 has legs on it taking up less space!
That’s the method I have finally settled on. Cut em’ cut all the limbs off individually, de-leaf them, and let them hang till almost dry, then bag em let them cure and then do the final trim and into jars.

I have that machine as well. Zero instructions with it. It has a blade in it and one that was taped to the inside top cover inside the box. Which blade is for wet and which is for dry? One is smooth and one serrated. I hate it when you get stuff and it totally lacks any kind of instructions. Thanks !!
Marty
I love Chevy Chase, you should too.
Smooth is wet, serrated is dry
Fantastic! Thanks so much, now I’m gonna go do some trimming lol. Soon as I change the blade.
Marty
Thanks Skinny!! I don’t have the same brand as you, but the trimmer is identical and made by the same Chinese company for sure. They make about a hundred different brand names lol. Didn’t even know they had a wire for dry trim. Mine came with the wet blade installed.
Info much appreciated !

The thing about schedules, estimated windows for veg and flower, etc… is that they are based on perfect equations you see.
Of the 6 Monkey Slapz I had, 1 refused to grow well enough for me to bother with keeping it.
Regarding the remaining 5, well, 1 of them took off and 4 of them needed to be transplanted.
These things don’t look like they are three weeks old, with the exception of maybe the 1 that took off.
So I don’t think of these as being at 26 days or whatever they are. You sort of have to keep a rolling schedule with a variable end date when you grow.
Flexibility and adaptability are keys to success.
It looks like you got them over the hump…
Good job.
As far as schedules for the ordinary man, generally they need to be fairly flexible. Too many possible deviations to the course.
I’m the type of dad who shows up to school pick up 15 minutes early. Who jams out while in line waiting. Who smiles and runs up to his son and gives him a big hug when he comes out of class.
