Beths First Grow Journal

I typically like solo cup starts then transplanting but if you do decide to go straight into big pot just be really careful not to over water the pot

I usually put autos into a solo cup for a few weeks till the leaves reach the outer edges.
Also I germ in paper towel first before planting in cups.
It’s never slowed mine down by putting in the cup first.
Actually helps the roots reach out and expand.
And makes for faster growth overall. :+1::v:

Definitely agreed @oldguy… It’s like learning to swim in the shallow end then making your way to the deep end as you become a stronger swimmer… I think it’s a great way to get the root system going :+1:

What do you say @deusoboy420? I believe you have the most experience with autos?

For the record : I agree with @oldguy and @scotty17, but I have never grown an auto yet…

Hey there! I am new and just joining the drama here but noticed with a smile the log/journal you were setting up for daily checks and the reason is when I did my first hydro grow, my mentor (a dirt-lover) warned me I would have to watch every little thing so I over-compensated and had twice daily records such as yours ranging from pH trends and PPM readings to humidity and temperature data…by the end of that crop I threw them all out and just used the force, so to speak. Worked just as well and was a fraction of the work…

I was going to paper towel them until they tap root then do the solo cups but don’t know what @Ladithief means :frowning:

@beths.
If you take 1 solo cup and cut your drain holes in it. Then after planting the seed put it in another cup the same.
Put a bit of water in the second cup and let it wick up into the first one.
And some water on top to dampen seed and soil around if.
If I read it right.
My personal fav method is still paper towel dampened with seed between.
Check out Hoppiefrog and kapouic and deusoboys cherrys noir grow.
They just gave Very detailed instructions on germination with the paper towel.:v:

You should start your seeds like you first intended, @Ladithief just gave you the next step…
If I understood him…

And here’s where @hoppiefrog starts giving me a crash course on starting seeds!
