The sad reality of cannabiz is big business will rule, because money rules the world. But I hope and pray that the craft market will always be around to support our communities.
I was very interested to read this article. However, when the author begins the article with this (below) as the opening paragraph, he negatively overshadows everything he wants to convey. Its a lesson in “how to toss away at least half of your audience.” There is a specific reason Johnny Carson was so successful for his entire 30 years compared to the majority of late night hosts/shows that followed: he intentionally avoided interjecting politics into his show.
Just my two cents.
In what universe does it make sense for the cannabis industry to be funneling millions to Trump? To help sway Trump towards his recent rescheduling of cannabis, in our current “pay to play” environment, different leaders of several different cannabis companies have donated huge sums of money to various of Trump’s Super PACs. It is beyond the scope of this article to discuss how Trump is destroying the very fabric of our democracy that supports any popular movements for social justice. The cannabis industry’s capitulation to, and support of Trump, is a profound betrayal of the millions who have made deep sacrifices to legalize cannabis over the last half-century. It blurs the once-simple battle lines of this immensely complex issue, at the worst possible time.
Don’t see the connection to old talk shows, but, thanks for your opinion about something on which you drew a conclusion without reading.
