Bigger, denser buds! How?

Don’t be shy we were all where u are at some point. This is my first online community;)

You’ve met some great growers and they will steer you straight. Like Al said; we’ve all been there. It sounds like you have a good plan ahead; what strains are you running?

I would also suggest if you are running coco to run straight coco with no soil mix. Use a coco schedule and keep PH 5.8 to 6.0 and modest amounts of nutes you will likely fall in love with the media.

Good lighting and penetration, ro water, good air circulation, good nutes, correct tempeture, Ph, Ec and humidity plus big pots for big root system = Big buds.

And as I’ve personally never run co2 I’d guess you’d get some monsters with that added

Bigger roots = bigger fruits!

I don’t think wattage is a good benchmark is it?

Every year I try new strains. This year it’s LSD, Bruce Banner #3 and Power Plant. I have one LSD and one Power Plant in my tent at the moment.

Totally agree with that!

You are correct. All things being equal, you could compare two lights based on consumption of electricity, but all things are almost always never equal.

PPF is the real measure of comparison for lights, IMHO.

No filters and flap open during the “day”. Should I leave them open at “night” too?

I think you will get the best ventilation in that tent by running a carbon filter sucking out funky smell and heat out one of the top flaps of the tent & close all flaps except the two bottom ones which are going to be bringing in fresh air which is what you want in your tent .

Look at it like this would you be comfortable kicking it inside of the tent with all the flaps closed all the time.

Now If you plan on running air conditioner with dehumidifier co2 by all means keep them all sealed .

Light is the key to getting the bigger, more dense buds. We run 4 1k watt HPS. Hubs built a frame with unistrut to mount them on and hooked up a small winch so I can raise and lower them w/remote. Best thing ever! LOL Plan to convert to CMH/LED combo around Christmas. Had this setup going for 5 yrs or so and it’s worked great. But anxious to try some of the newer, less hot lighting and lower the old power bill which, you well know, is not cheap with big hps lamps. But boy, the plants love em and by manipulating light height, I can cut down on the stretch that typically comes with using hps. My stuff has paid for itself a hundred times over despite expense of operating it. Keep it coming. Great job!

Wow. Thank you for your compliments. I really enjoyed reading your piece above. Very informative and interesting. Iv seen big op growers use the light lifts and some with screen lifts as well for scrog in. It sounds as if old man n u have a good set plan for Christmas. I’d luv to see your set up. Can you invite me to your thread please.
Peace n Luv my Creative friends

Love LSD Barney does her well, power plant has great phenos if u find a good one usually got a good one or two out of a pack( great breed stock) will help with yeilds and THC levels not bad flower time. Bruce Banner I still haven’t seen a great cut so far just medeoker runs here by locals but I know it’s epic if u get a good one

LOL You have to take into consideration I’m a girl. With my setup, yes. I run HPS lamps and the stronger my light is (more wattage) (running 4 1k HPS covering around 8’ x 10’ area) the bigger my buds and overall weight per plant. More light grows more weed. I keep my lights as close to the plants as I can without it burning them by keeping big air moving over the tops which disperses the heat put off by the lamps. Lights, generally sit at around 5’ off floor most of the time and tops can get within a few inches of lens w/o light burn. I’ll try to post some pics of them too later.
