We have 12 plants now germinated, I think I went over board lmao. other than that, this is the progress of the Project Z (1foot tall, 1 foot diameter). 6 days ago I made a post about not knowing what week it’s on, someone replied with 2-3, i’m aiming for that 3 so I will ASSUME. this is now on week 4 start tomorrow, I see a lot of loss of color on the leaves. is that normal? also, the soil plant is in a 3.5 Gallon Fabric. I want to try something very different w this rounds Project Z. I think everyone here will possibly be amused once it starts getting alittle bigger lol.
Use the magnifying glass up above and search ‘nutrient robbing’, it’s been covered a few times before and you can look at the pictures…
If you’re new to the forum and not utilizing the magnifying glass to search subjects, you’re really missing out on a lot of valuable information available at your fingertips !
Well some ‘fade’ of foliage is normal as your plant gets very close to finishing.
Throughout flowering you need to provide enough nutrient to support the developing buds.
If you see ‘nutrient robbing’ the plants telling you the developing buds have insufficient nutrients, so they’re pulling nutrient out of the leaves (robbing)
The solution is to increase your nutrients ASAP. Perhaps increase by 20% initially…give your plants 7-10 days to respond and observe results. You can gradually increase your nutes from there if necessary.
I need some help @TheMadFlascher , so I put more nutrients in. The plant is still showing a lot of signs of robbing, im not sure what’s going on. I had to change the way it was set in the water and water got up around where my new root growth is on the Knuckle. there is foam almost in the water, like a film. i’m not sure what is going on. the welting is even more intense.
Yeah, my man, sorry…looks like we have a much bigger problem than normal nutrient robbing…
You’ll have to explain to me what you have under that white lid…
If I had to make an educated guess, I’d say that’s oxygen deprivation to the roots. May be caused by waterlogged soil, or just that you have everything sealed off ?!
Plants REQUIRE an abundant supply of oxygen to the roots at all times…that’s why in cannabis we always have a well drained, porous media…to assure maximum oxygenation to the roots.
Another good example is hydroponic grow’s extreme growth and crop production…those roots spend their vast amount of time in highly oxygenated water, or actually just sitting in air. (depending on the hydroponic system they choose…)
OH!NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! my poor lady:( I am very sad but I’m gonna try everything to push her through these last few weeks. I just found something pretty cool though @TheMadFlascher ! i have no idea what it is, I hope you have seen it before but my seeds have finally sprouted out fully, this one looked a little weird so I got my phone.
You may have a world record for the smallest blooming cannabis ever ! The first true leaves haven’t even expanded yet and it looks like it might be a parthenocarpic calyx…will be interesting to see if the plant survives long enough to show us what that develops like !!
So this is an update, 4 days later. little guy not lookin too hot and that one who only had the 2 round leaves growing STILL hasn’t started sprouting those “True Leaves” yet. wait… I guess I do see true leaves growing now, that one’s a little late to the show for sure. all of these small plants were started the exact same time.
Just so you’re aware of some Botany…The cotyledons are contained in the seed. Their purpose is to provide nutrient to the seedling until it can build enough roots to scavenge nutrients for themselves.
As the true leaves expand and start to photosynthesize, the cotyledons will shrivel and drop off.
I don’t truly know what the hell that cellular mass was on the weird one, however you can see the cotyledons are just about consumed, so I doubt it’s going to make it…
I appreciate all the help, I feel like this lil dude should be documented so my apologies if the connected messages start to come off as spam. it’s just very weird how this guy is growing.
so we still have that little guy who actually looks like it may actually make it?! maybe?…. (after you said it might not make it, put it straight back into more humidity and tossed it under a 16/8 light cycle) I don’t think so but who knows. then we have the tall skinny guy w only the round leaves w 2 small “true leaves” finally forming. I think it’s very weird that all these plants EXCEPT the one in the big fabric pot all started on the same date and time, three of them are striving and almost look like they may be my best plants just by the color.
