Bonsai Anyone?

So what do you do between waterings, fertilizing, pruning your Cannagarden? How about cannabis bonsai! I think I need to go in the house more often. Anyone try anything fun on the side like this?

I want to try doing a cannabonsia so bad! It’s amazing what you can do with these plants and how much stress you can put them through. Looks like this one will turn out very fun! I’ve tried things such as what I call a high stress transplant. When doing this you beat out all of the soil from the rootball. Once you get all the roots exposed. Take some scissors and chop about 6" off the longest part of the roots. Just like giving your hair a trim. The male plant I did this to wasn’t even phased if anything he kind of liked it!

Hi @chaosleaf , cool topic and welcome to GN. Might be worth growing a bonsai. How is this example from Reddit:

Wow, that’s beautiful. Be a great centrepiece in the garden patio with friends.

Tell me more, why cut the rootball, to restrict growth? I find that I’ve had success binding the root with small pots and careful fertilizer. The plant is healthy but stressed to hell (nothing but 3 point leaves).

I just did it as a test to see how the plant would react honestly. Well that and I didn’t want to put it in a much larger pot so I wanted a smaller root ball. It worked great for what I was doing and I was thinking that it might also start more new root ends. The plant did great would have never been able to tell that I literally trimmed the roots six inches lol.
