Hey everyone, looking to up the c02 in my tent its a 3x4. I dont really have the money to put into an expensive c02 system, however I am abke to get a couple different much cheaper options such as the exhale c02 bag or a similar product which you shake to activate and place in grow tent. My question is has anyone ever used these things? And do they actually work? My concern is my fan is drawing so much air out of the tent I feel these products won’t be able to produce enough c02 to make a difference before it is just exhausted out of the tent.
I also had an idea, if i were to place one of the contraptions in a sealed box and had my air intake fan duct drawing air from the sealed box and sending it into the grow tent, would this possibly allow more c02 into the tent before it gets vented because it would be coming in the bottom and being pulled up to the filter to be exhausted?
Thanks everyone and happy growing

Not sure if you can do what @tdubwilly does… but he does CO2…
I have a rain system set up with a tank you have to run the room hotter than normal in order for CO2 to actually work. I wouldn’t recommend the bags in a tent just because it would suck it right out anyways. If you get a flowing system it can increase your harvest by 30% but you need to get the right parts per million through each phase 700 to 800 parts per million during reg and 1200 to 1,500 during flower. Keep the temp 80 to 90°
During veg not reg

I am Going to have to semi-disagree in that one. It is said that you should raise your temps for the plant to properly use the CO2. I disagree with this. I have ran CO2 in small and in large rooms. I have found I get way better results maintaining a room at 77 degrees with my co2 ppm at 1200-1500. I have had rooms that excelled And did better at leaving the co2 at only 1000 ppm before, and they dod worse at 1500. The room build is important. I have done numerous experiments over the last 20 years on this. I have even loaded a room to see what over 2000ppm would do. Hahaha it was not good. Lol My results in my rooms at 77 degrees where better than any of the rooms at 89 degrees or higher. Ive even experimented with rooms at 90 degrees…no…no no no. The plants may like the co2, but they do not like the heat. I grow for giant fat colas, not stretchy or airy nuggets. The heat brings the stretchy airy stuff, even with co2. Just my 2 cents, now I’m broke. Hahahaha
To answer the initial question tho,if your exhausting that much than your just Spending $ on co2 for nothing. It will exhaust out and not maintain a filled rm properly.good luck!

So I use co2 for my tent and I actually kinda been drinking a lil tn and if I see this TM il give my input kus it all decides what ur set up is what are u using for air purifier and humidity controll and space per plant so diff co2 filters have diff settings and they operate at at diff compacitys
I debated the same thing last year when I built my setup @mkneller33 and came to the conclusion it wasn’t going to be practical to try and boost my c02. I was going place a 02 bag in my tent also. Any c02 I was going to try and add to my tent would be drawn right back out. I thought about trying to seal my room and run it that way? But ultimately I’ve been happy with what I get out of my perpetual grow, I didn’t see any need for the extra investment.

Your concerns are well warranted.
You can close off your tents ventilation but your temps will skyrocket and those bags don’t elevate things enough to outweigh the downsides that come with sky high temps.
This is the only way to go. If you don’t have the money to get something nice then don’t get anything at all. Co2 setups need alteration of the grow area top which require money and time.
Look, I’ve seen people hype these bags and co2 generators. I promise you they are crap, no matter what people might post pics of their co2 levels being with a co2 bag, i have grown with expensive co2 setups and with co2 exhale bags and generators. They are a joke. Buds are no bigger. Now grow with a co2 bottle and a properly sealed room and suddenly buds get huge. Exhale bags are nothing but show and im not just saying that, I’ve tried them and other products plenty… they are a waste of money.
Now even big co2 setups i don’t use anymore. Even the smallest leaks in your grow room can lead to you paying “gold like” prices for co2.
I have used co2 every which way… I’m just as happy not using it at all and relying instead on climate and airflow.
That’s exactly what i eventually started using. I would take the “rain hose” and weave it into my scrog nets so i would literally be releasing the co2 directly into the canopy.
I grew big buds that way, but I’m lazy and the outcome did not outweigh the effort, and when your lazy like me, then you get rid of things quickly when the outcome does not outweigh the effort

Thanks everyone for the info. @tdubwilly tbh i really didn’t see how they could produce an effective amount of c02. Im glad I could get confirmation from some one who has the experience you do. And really they aren’t all that cheap. Like 50 each. Thanks again for the great info.
@tdubwilly I was also reading your grow journal, best of luck in your battle pal. Love your positive attitude and outlook. I too had to battle that fucker and have been on the positive side of the fight for just over 6 yrs. You got this my friend!!
