Hello people my names chappers and it’s my second grow ever. And my first from seed. I’m only 11 days in. I will up load some pictures later. Just looking for advice and other people’s techniques.
Happy growing people hope to hear from you all soon
Trifoilate plant. Hope not but that a lot of times means it a hermaphrodite. Are you growing your seedlings under HPS? I’ll keep following!
And welcome!
Yes mate I am using HPS. I hope this is not a daft question but how do you mean a hermaphrodite?
Hi @chappers94
Welcome to GN and thanks for sharing your grow with us. Yes sad reality is your plant has more of a chance of being male or a hermi. And you need to charge your phones battery!!! welcome again, shout if you have questions.
Well that’s a bummer. I have just been offered some stardawg cuttings. What are your thoughts on growing them. My last ones where critical mass. And they where nice to grow
Go for it, good strain and you are guaranteed cloned females. That is a better start for you. But grow the seedling to, see how it turns out.
Yeah man. The clones won’t be ready for about 4-5 days. I’ll show you a picture of the seed to show you how it’s getting on
Welcome. I’m pretty new as well and just started my second grow but my first indoors. Will follow your grow and invite you to check out my journal as well. Some really experienced growers here always willing to help I have found.
Welcome to the growers network. We love to watch you grow!
Your little baby look good. Run the tri foot! It may be super awesome bud. I love mutants. So I’m a bit on the side of the weird plants! Lol.
There is tons of research materials here. You will be very happy with your garden here.
Thanks for the great welcome. Seen some great grows on here and I’m looking to grow the best bud possible.
This seed is meant to be a white widow auto flower. But some people are telling me it’s a hermaphrodite. But I’m going to grow it to see how it turns out. I have checked it this morning and there has been a huge difference already in one she/he is starting grow really fast.
Yeah man thank you. I will keep watching your grow and look forward to seen some good flowers.
Happy growing
No questions are daft…I ask questions all the time that others know the answer to. I have been growing for 50 years, and every time I had a trifoliate plant it was a hermie. a hermie has both male and female flowers on the same plant. I would imagine that there are some that grow with trifoliate structure and are normal…not sure about that.
Ah thank you for the advice. So is it still worth growing and will it trouble any clones I put in with it.
On another note it’s great to get advice of someone who has been growing so long. Have you ever grown white widow?
Yes I have grown WW, but only what the breeder called WW extreme auto. They were autos, supposedly a super strain of WW made into an auto flower. They were pretty good but not as good as photos in my opinion…still have some of those seeds lol…I bet they are 15 years old. They are in little glass vials, got them from Amsterdam back when autos were a brand new thing. I wonder if they are any good, I’ve had them in the freezer all this time.
And the only way to know if it is a female or a hermi is to grow it. If you have the room go for it, you’ll know withing a couple weeks of flower cycle.
Oh wow 15 year old WW autos. If they are good I would love to see how they turn out. Bet it would be a great smoke. Am I right in saying the genetics would be fantastic??
Yeah I’m going to keep her/he growing got stardawg clones coming soon so if there’s enough room I’ll keep it going till flower and see how it turns out
If you want them I will send them to you to try out, I have about 20 of them left I think…not sure would have to get them out and count… surely one or two will pop. They are fems. Send me a private message with your addy and I’ll get em off to ya if you want to give them a whirl.
You have had a seed section in your freezer for 15 years? Should I store mine in such a manner?
Well ILGM says to store them in the fridge…but the world genetic seed banks store them at intense cold temps in a vault in a mountain under strict conditions of temp and humidity. So I’m thinking that if they are in glass vials so that they don’t freeze dry they will keep the longest that way. I quit growing for a long time, but wanted to save the seed. Then I started again but got new seed. I haven’t tried to sprout any of them. @chappers94 and I decided that being across the pond it wasn’t worth the cost to ship and customs and all that for seed that old. I might just pull 3-4 out and see if they are still viable.
I am soon to be popping beans from the 90s. Ill see how that goes!
