Sales at Colorado’s adult-use and medical dispensaries were $138.1 million this past March, a 21 percent increase from February, only four percent larger than sales in March of 2017. Adult-use retailers enjoyed a sales increase of 14 percent from March 2017 while sales at medical dispensaries declined 21 percent.
In March, flower contributed 44 percent of all revenues with nearly $61 million in sales. Flower sales declined 11 percent from the previous March. Pre-rolled joints, which are tracked separately from flower, generated $7.9 million in sales for March, a 16 percent increase from the previous year.
Concentrate sales in March grew 24 percent from the previous year. With $42 million in sales coming from concentrates, the category contributed 30 percent of revenues for the month. Vape sales were $18.1 million in March, $8 million more than in the previous year, resulting in an 80 percent increase.
Sales of edibles were nearly $23 million in March, a 16 percent increase from the previous year. Candy, the largest sub-category within edibles, contributed 51 percent of revenues for the edibles category. Candy sales grew 23 percent from March 2017.
