November 2017 Overview:
Sales at Colorado’s adult-use and medical dispensaries were nearly $122 million in November, a 10 percent increase from the previous year. Adult-use sales of nearly $89.7 million for the month grew 18 percent from the previous year, while sales at medical dispensaries declined eight percent to $31.9 million. Compared to October, the industry experienced a seasonal sales decline of six percent.
In November, flower contributed 47 percent of all revenues with $57.4 million in sales. Flower sales declined eight percent from the previous year. Pre-rolled joints, which are tracked separately from flower, generated $6.8 million in sales for November. This is a 29 percent increase from the previous year.
Concentrate sales in November grew 45 percent from the previous year. With $35.5 million in sales coming from concentrates, the category contributed 29 percent of revenues for the month. Vape sales were $13.5 million in November, $6.4 million more than in November 2016, an 89 percent increase. Though Live Resin is one of the smaller subcategories within concentrates, it is growing quickly. With $3.8 million in sales this November, the category has grown 105 percent year-over-year.
Sales of edibles were $18.1 million in November, a 22 percent increase from November 2016. Candy, the largest sub-category within edibles, generated $8.9 million in sales in November, a 30 percent increase over the previous year. Chocolates, the next largest super-class in the edibles category, grew a more modest 12 percent from November 2016.
