Colorado Sales Statistics September 2018

September 2018 Overview:

Sales at Colorado’s adult-use and medical dispensaries reached $138 million this past September, a two percent decrease from August. Compared to the prior year, sales this past September were flat. Adult-use retailers enjoyed a sales increase of seven percent from September 2017 while sales at medical dispensaries dropped 21 percent.

In September, flower contributed 44 percent of all revenues with $60.2 million in sales. Flower sales declined 12 percent from the previous September. Pre-rolled joints, which are tracked separately from flower, generated $7.7 million in sales for September, a one percent decline from the previous year.

Concentrate sales in September grew 14 percent from the previous year. With $43.2 million in sales coming from concentrates, the category contributed 31 percent of revenues for the month. Vape sales were $21.1 million in September, a 49 percent increase from the prior year.

Sales of edibles were $21.8 million in September, an 11 percent increase from the previous year. Candy, the largest sub-category within edibles, contributed eight percent of total revenues. Candy sales grew 18 percent from September 2017.
