HI. I’m researching a new tent setup and am leaning heavily towards an LED lighting system. I’m confused by the different types of LED lights and really don’t know where to turn. Anyone have any specific recommendations for a light?
My first recommendation about LED lights is stay away the built in fan types with lenses. You want a good led quantum board that’s fitted to a thick heat sink. Also look for lights that have a good Mean Well ballast. Mars hydro and spiderfarmer have great lights that are pretty economically priced. Also look for the new Samsung LM301b diodes. They run cooler than any other Samsung diode.
I’ve been running the Mars hydro sp3000 and it’s a beast of a light. I saw 1.5g per watt return in my last rdwc grow.

Mars hydro, Spiderfarmer, hlg (horticulture lighting group) even bloom plus makes a decent light
Read reviews, get second opinions etc, find a light you think you like and then ask the people here, they’ll steer you right
I am using the Spider Farmer SF-2000 for my first grow and the plants in my 2X4 tent seem to love it. There are a few video reviews out there you may be interested in.
Just got a hlg 600 v2 rspec for a 4x4 tent. Can’t wait to see the difference from 2 amazon blurples.
