It’s not cannabis specific, but I felt it was worth discussing. The new president-elect of Brazil has basically said he has no qualms with slashing and burning the Amazon rainforest if it means economic gains. This troubles me a lot as a biologist, because the Amazon is not only important for the local environment, but for the world as a whole. The effects of the Amazon upon the rest of the world are not insignificant.
