Apparently they have high expectations @MK3_Pharms I got a response within a few hours saying a generic message I have gotten in the past ā€œUnfortunately you do not meet our requirementsā€ā€¦ really? we didn’t even talk… or look over my information I submitted its a shame you can get over looked in this industry like the thread on how tough it is to get into the industry. Thanks for getting back to me @jroblyer on indeed.

So here is my take on that. There are only a handful of states that have facilities to legally grow. Even smaller are the number of growers with that experience. It basically is saying to me. ā€œWest Coast Master Commercial grower Wantedā€ The number of people who have the requirements is actually pretty small. The guys that do fit the bill are already very very happy where they are.
Hell ive been in Cannabis cultivation thirty two years now, and i dont check all the boxes. So IDK

Washington State is limited to 30,000 square feet of canopy and has no hemp industry. So as far as the West Coast is concerned OR remains [generally speaking]. Northern California, outside of the mountain regions, does not match the requested climate very well but some places work. It [MA] essentially aligns with the border of WA and OR. So my primary climate.

I would say this candidate is located in Canada or MI as the alternative? That keeps the candidate in the climate range requested [at least in the Americas, excluding lower South America] but I am not certain of the reason for this preference. I would need more information. I am sure there is a consideration. I have many thoughts in mind as to why this is a concern but not enough description to confirm.

I actually go beyond the requirements, outside of the University request, and could easily elevate this role from the current expectation [which is a good thing]. My experience in this role being insignificantly different than the specific demands listed and perfectly adapted [having managed a lot more in terms of responsibility]. I am that ā€˜set of things’ that just so happens to be at the same essential latitude [though I just moved to Arizona]. I am not sure if that makes me some kind of unicorn at the moment?

I check all of these boxes for sure. I cannot, however, be of value to them, even though I am [objectively] more educated than the candidate described by the requirements, so as long as the core rejection is my choice as a teenager not to start my education scholastically. My experience outweighs any concern [and is documented / performed under current commercial regulation]. Companies with similar requirements but are not a ā€˜hard line’ [prefered but not required] on scholastic roots are interviewing me [and the interviews seem to be going well as far as I can tell].

If I applied on Indeed I would be met with the same automatic email as the filters selected [which happens often enough] would predetermine me as ā€˜unqualified’.

I believe Growernick is 100% correct in the advice to seek Hemp Staff for assistance.

shoot, the largest facility that I’ve ever ran was about 4k sq foot. A girl I know of just got hired out in PA to start up a facility and she’s getting $100K/ year. I’d say that the best underground growers are running 5K sq ft operations, and probably pulling around $100K. However, they don’t get paid vacations, holidays or security from the tyranny of the state… I’d be down, if MA wasn’t so cold in the winter :grimacing:

Sounds like they need to look in Europe or get someone with the necessary education, but without cannabis experience.
