Discreet shade for grow

Will a role of desert camouflage provide too much shade? I live in the southwest with a lot of sun so I’m thinking about shading the plants. Is that a good or bad idea, and if so has anyone used the roles of camouflage that are cheap and typically used for hunting blinds.

Thanks in advance!

In the southwest, too, and, we use them for an actual blind (for photography). We have tried a couple of different brands one one universal thing we’ve noticed is they fade after a few months.

I used white shade cloth for my outdoor grow. It is put over my grow area from mid-May until beginning of August.

If you are putting plants outside now, if you acclimate them a few hours a day, you won’t need shade cloth over the top at this point of the season. You WILL still have to monitor your roots/pots/moisture content carefully. If you are looking to hide them from prying eyes, the camo cloth works well and, at this time of year, tends to fade at just the right rate as the foliage fades/dries and dies in fall. They work well in that regard. I tried them for that when I had to hide plants a few years ago. Then, I planted native bushes around my little area and negated the need for the cover.

Thank you! I’ve a test plant out currently to judge conditions and I bought an electric timer to drip irrigate two cattle tanks. Hopefully I can figure average evaporation over time and set different programs to deal with watering automatically across seasons.
The nearest neighbor is ~200 yards away but it’s a direct line of site so camo shade it is! Thanks again!
