Establishing R&D program and trialing new strains

Dear forum,

Greetings from a commercial greenhouse facility in Queensland Australia. A question to the R&D people among us:

I am trying to design a trial to evaluate 3 new strains on the property. I am interested to understand optimal photoperiod. Operation is just in its diapers and there are no strains to act as control.

What will the best scientific approach? Perhaps somebody have a similar trial protocols to share? Are there other critical qualities to pay attention for?

Greetings! Don’t try to reinvent the wheel: 18 hours on, 6 hours off during vegetative growth, 12 hours on 12 hours off during flowering.

My advice is to focus on consistently getting your conditions to optimal ranges in your new grow environments as you are getting jamming. We are all here to help you out. Good luck!
