Ok now I keep seeing all this extravagant pruning, LST training, clipping, tying bending twisting, pretty much every kind of contortion you can do to a plant lol…but really my question is this.
I top mine, usually about twice, then let them grow out a bit then flip them into flower. I let the side limbs catch up with the top ones all by themselves, and wind up with a whole bunch of tops but no giant buds because of the sheer number of buds I have.
So my question is, is all of this extreme training really getting you more weight (bud)? Has anyone (I know they have) taken a set of clones and grown them in the same place at the same time with the same nutes, pots, schedule… da da da…and then actually compared what you actually got off of each weight wise? I mean those huge cola’s are fantastic looking, but are you gaining anything?
I keep seeing all these little short 2 ft tall plants and mine are like 44" tall lol. But loaded with nuggets.
If there is an actual advantage I will try my best to change my ways lol.
I don’t bend mine, I just do a simple topping, one into two, two into four and then let the bottom catch up and then flip them. I don’t cut the bottom branches off, so I wind up with like 20 tops. But they all stay pretty small on the buds because of the amount of buds on each plant.
Looking grrrrrreat! When you gonna flip em? One of these days I’m gonna grow a room just start them, let them grow no pruning, and then just flip them with enough room to finish them and see what happens yield wise. You know one great big center cola lol.
You have more height than I do for sure. My tent is only 78" tall on the outside, loose at least another 6 " with the light rail and bars on the inside. Lookin good for sure. What line of nutes you use with your hydro setup? I’m thinking about doing a couple in DWC as I already have the buckets made up for years now.
