Feminized seeds to hermies

New grower here, My girls turn into hermies, found lite leaks week 5 of flower, now I have 4 plants of purple ghost candy that will be harvested next week. Question? are these seeds good, they come from feminized seeds, will they produce female plants if i plant somtime in future. My first grow not what i expected, but a learning exp.Are these worth smoking or using, Thanks for any input

Welcome @3daydan ! There are some serious growers around here that will have the information you need so give them a minute for coffee and such. I want to congratulate you on your first grow. Seriously, just getting the first one through veg is an achievement so take a bow…or crowd surf, or set something on fire, whatever helps you celebrate the win.
I will offer this bit of advice: Stick around this forum!!! This is THE rabbit hole of all things cannabis. If you need advice on planning or help with problems a post on this forum gets a glance from some of the most knowledgeable weed nerds on the planet. Now get yourself a decent helmet

Are the seeds from a reputable vendor? What strain? Some strains do that but it sounds like its unstable genetics. Light leaks can do this also but i have a few light leaks and they havent caused that big of an issue. I have question about the actual male flowers on the buds? Were the hermie flowers just anthers? Or were they fully developed male flower pods that opened up containing all the small flowers inside? Also were the male flowers only concentrated in a certain area like where the light leak was at? Were the male flowers in every bunch of flowers/buds on the entire plant pretty uniformly? Also is there any guarantee on the seeds you used? The seeds will make more hermie plants. There is a slim chance the seeds might grow without hermies but 90% of the time it will hermie. And if you took notes on your grow the other seeds should herm around the same time in flower. I would avoid those seeds especially since your newer to growing. Im interested to see your answer about the herm flowers it tells me a lot about the genetics. Whats strains were crossed to make this strain? Any pics of the herms berfore during and after the grow. Welcome to the forum!! If you dont want to blow a lot of money on seeds. i have many types of seeds. Sometimes it easier to use low cost seeds to learn with than expensive seeds. Im running some $400 seeds right now. I dont like high priced seeds at all but i do make new strains all the time

Those seeds are the ones i just remade. Actually those are the seeds you won! I did a preservation run. Because the seeds i always buy are regular photoperiods. I alway make my own strains but sometimes i use really high end genetics. Then i start to mix and test different strains trying to find the best crosses i can. And if there really good i sell them to friends and forum members. And sometimes i give them away. Im actually making another run from the F3 seeds i had left over. only 3 left.

Heres them in another small breeding tent.

Hi @3daydan

Welcome to GN. Exactly what @PreyBird1 is said. However he went into way to much detail. I have always been told to put hermies in the bin, chop the plants and get rid of the genetics, start again. But dont give up, growing cannabis is a huge learning curve but you need to start with trusted genetics or clones. I did it last season with several genetics I had on hand. It was heartbreaking. They usually show when the plant is stressed in some way.

What strain? Some strains do that but it sounds like its unstable genetics.

Good A.M. and thank you for helping , In all honesty , this is my second grow, I crashed and burned on the first, with a strain called Don Carlos . I thought at the time it was because I stressed out my plants with heater inside tent to close or not doing the nutes right. Half way throught my second grow week 5 of flower(soil grow) I was talking with some experienced growers and mistakes they had made in beginning of growing. One of the mistakes was the little orange lite on the power strip in grow tent on . The alarm bell went off in my head, I had not even thought of this. Soon as I got back home I headed to my tent in the garage. Not only was there a orange lite, but my dimmer on my control panel(acinfinity 69) was on dim instead of off, total bummer. Ouch!. I corrected this right away (week 5 flower)a little to late. I am now seeing the bannana patches that are decribed as seeds from what I have read and seen on the flowers. Also on this grow I have had some challenges with nurtients and made mistakes along the way with trying to correct high ppms in runoff by lowering my ppms in and a good flush with plain ph water . Also It has been a challenge with the ph out. It has been on the low side 5.8 to 6.0. I’m at the end of this grow, and ready to move on to next with a new plan.I been doing a lot of reading and trying to soak up all the info, I never new there was so much to this but I’m enjoying it, I feel like i’m in school again. From what i have learned I think with the light exposure and stress I’ve created I got hermies.Already planning next grow, decided on a coco grow using the Ventana Plant Science nutes and following Dr Coco guidelines for grow. I 'm excited about this especially after reading i’v realized all the mistake i’v made and what not to do. I would like to thank all of you out there for your help and input, along the way. I plan to share this next grow hopefully the 3 time will be a winner.
