First Time Grower and GreenHouse

Gastro Pop #4 is in the 4th week of the budding process I believe. I have reduced sunlight with a 50% shade cloth.Growing outside in June July we are obtaining 16 hours of sunlight currently.

Will this shade cloth help with bud development? How crucial is a maximum of 12 hours of light during budding. Will this plant fully bud like the images on hightimes.

This is an organic grow. Currently giving bush doctor twice a week in between regular waterings.

Light is not the criteria. Cannabis needs a minimum of 12 hours of complete darkness to begin to flower. Growing outdoors you are at the mercy of the sun and it’s cycles. Where are you that you are getting 16 hours of sunlight a day? We just had our longest day of the year and we had about 13.5 hours of sunlight.

Hi @mbradle1989

You could block out the light with some black plastic so that the plant stays in flower. With your long summer sunlight days, you will more than likely force the plant to reveg. Also the plant could get to big for the box you have created, you still have several weeks of flower time, and that plant should get much bigger.

It’s about 15 hours in Ohio, same pretty much as Missouri. The 20th is Summer solstice.

The sun will rise at 6:00am and set at 9:00pm Ohio today.

I have been using a black out shade cloth and tarp to control the darkness to no less then 12 hours darkness everyday with the shade and black out tarps

The plant seems to be doing well;

although we are currently obtaining 14.75 hours of light in Ohio and 10 hours of darkness. The additional controlled darkness is helping during the flowering stage.
