Flush and cut?

Ok so plant is almost ready for harvest.
I want to harvest in stages
Should i do a two day flush , cut down
Then resume with nutrients
Then repeat with the next cutting?

I believe that you could just keep going with nutrients if you prefer. Lots of people Flush, lots of people don’t.

Thank you…i think your right.
Ive been doing some sampling quick cure over a lightbulb
Tastes very nice vapes quite well.
The weed i cured for two months is slightly better tasting.
So i was rethinking the whole flush thing.

I don’t flush. At least not intentionally, the only thing I do personally is just drop them in dark for 48 hours then go to drying.

You’re very right, after some cure time things definitely get better.

The main reason for flushing is to clean the un-natural food remains from the plant. Flush out everything that is not natural and you get a better taste.

Ive done it both ways and cant tell the difference.
I dont waste my time with it now.
My weed tastes just fine

Ya i hear ya …you don’t have to go overboard to get half decent taste…
To many weed people try to do the same thing wine people do
A little pretentious about flavour. If the flavour is half decent and it gets me to sleep im a happy stoned puppy :upside_down_face:

I like to use nutrients till the end. I always tell people that are learning that flushing is to leach excess salts from the medium and just because you are using a quote chemical fertilizer doesn’t mean there are chemicals in your plant!

I can’t remember the study but they tested flush vs unflushed and found very little difference in final product but did save a week worth of nutrients

This really depends on grow method, if organic soil grown then there really isn’t a point to flushing especially if following a AACT feeding cuz you should be backing off on the inputs anyways as it finishes up then just only water for the last couple weeks. If using liquid nutes then you should absolutely 100% flush all the excess salts and buildup out, not just for the finishing plant but to prep your grow medium for the next round not having a bunch of leftover crap in it. I also do my harvest in waves, knock down most the outer higher up thick chunky buds and let rest grow for another 2 weeks, chop again and leave for 1 last week and knock out the rest. Brew a batch of veg tea to drench my soil, leave for a few days and soil is off to the next grow

I’ve done both to see for myself. Like others stated the “flush” is just saves you nutrients. No point in wasting nutrients for the last 1-2week when you decide to chop.

As far as tasting a difference it had little effect on being harsh or not. What plays a role in harsh herb is cure.

Think about fire wood. When it burns dry with little moisture the ash is gray. When u burn wet wood its super dark.

Like wet bud. It ashes dark and causes that harsh taste. This is just my opinion/experience.

Hydro is different in regard to flushing.
